CSS Survey - A few points to note.

I didn't attend due to work but from looking at the pictures and right ups etc it would be better if there was a bigger variety of cars. I know it's cliosport Saturday but what about opening up to some other clubs? Megane owners? Williams Clio? Clio16valver? I know this would probably be a logistical nightmare but may make the car aspect a little more interesting and possibly encourage more traders to attend.

Everything is our fault.

Good job you clarified that.

Next year, please ensure the day does not clash with my social calender.

Also a fuel card to help get there would be great.

Lunch should be free too.

Maybe you could pay us to attend ? Might lean towards less complaints.

Cheers.

Originally in pre-planning for last year we had a BBQ company coming along.

They were going to do fresh organic burgers/hotdogs/salad and a hog roast all for a fairly decent price that we'd have covered and you'd all have got free food.

But they wouldn't allow it and in reality, giving you guys a £2.50 voucher cost us more.

I think you guys deserve mega credit just for coming up with that idea even though you couldn't put it through. I'm guessing they will never come and go with the outside catering? BBQ would have been uber awesome aswell. Personally I had a superb day.

I'm not sure why start and finish time matters, you turn up whenever you want and leave whenever you want!

It was open to other clubs this year iirc. Had to select a ticket purchase time.

I had a sandwich and coffee and it was fine - experience has shown me this is often the best option. It's hard to imagine what can be done to please everyone without an endless budget.

I used to run a car club and always hired the largest marquee we could for every event. Most of the time it was hardly used, but if it rained we were always prepared. Having said that, one year inside it we modified a members car in a day using donated parts from traders - exhaust, steering wheel, suspension, air filter etc. Another time we did servicing master classes. Back then it was more about the car than the fun and games - but times change.

Personally I think the admin team deserve a big thumbs up for another great event. It's in all of our nature to take the time to be critical, not to praise.

We've all had all sorts so far.

Complaints about the raffle time, the awards time, the parking, the weather, the lack of traders, the location, the opening time, the closing time, the museum, where we put the entertainment (don't worry about thousands of pounds of electric stuff being outside), the lack of things to do outside, not knowing who people were, Admin not talking to them etc etc.

We understand people moaning about the food because it tasted like Scotland in a bun.

If they served Aberdeen angus burgers people wouldnt have complained you southern mug! ;)

I genuinely couldn't think of anything I didn't like about CSS, but then I used my voucher to get drinks and didn't try the food.

I wrote about the location because the link posted of the buggy simulator before the event showed it set up outside under a gazebo, so that's what I was looking for when I first went there early in the morning. The map made it seem like the food and entertainment was set up in the rear car park, so when I got up there and saw all the bikesafe people in the carpark I assumed it hadn't been set up yet. It wasn't until later when I found it. But then I'm famed for my poor sense of direction so I wouldn't have said it was much of an issue.

The times of the show are fine and the show itself was alright.

The museum was a bit boring as it was mostly the same as last year. The entertainment was really good, better than i had imagined it would be.

I think a change of venue would make it a bit more interesting for next year as there needs to be something to spice it up.

What Leeds_182 said about opening it up to other car clubs.

Be good to see some Williams clios and more Mark 1s and meganesport.net

Yeah other car clubs being there is a poor idea imo.

CSS is for CS only.

Offical camping sounds good, where the cars are all parked together in the campsite, but you would need a vast area to do it, and it would become chaos with trying to move cars around.

Its open to anyone anyway. This isn't a thread for people to leave feedback again, i was just pointing out some key points.

With respect, you don't organise either event and Trax camping is off site.

I did camping once before WSR, never again. People driving cars around the site all night and being dicks. Zero sleep.

Of course, and I respect that a camping event with CS's name on it would pose bigger risks for you guys with regards to liability.

Also true about the camping at Trax being 'unofficial', but the basic principle of camping and cars doesn't seem all that bad. Having said that, your concerns about drunk driving seemed to be proved true at Le Mens.

Was just an idea anyway, evidentially the risks would outweigh the rewards.

Haha this is why I never camp, except at Trax. Ruins the show next day cos your so tired!

CSS Friday camping is a recipe for disaster IMO :p

Gents and Ladies (members...not staff), if the food was THAT bad (which I thought it was) did anyone complain to the manager? (I did!). He said I was an exception to the rule as most people were happy with their food...but this forum is different...people will whinge on here, but not say anything in real life. I did say the food was poor on the survey, not a dig at CS, just to make them aware.

I am gonna look into getting a bbq into fcs next year, but it will need donations of different stuff....just need a butcher as a member of CS to sort the meat out cheaper...

I thought the food was probably the worst I've had, ever. (The chips were just chips, you can't really go wrong - but that burger - WTF!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!)

This is no where near a criticism of CSS though, I think they made the right move trying something else out as people weren't happy last year - it's just a shame it didn't quite go to plan!

I had a hotdog and salad and thought it was fine! £7-odd minus the voucher, certainly seemed good calum to me. (although to be fair the burgers/pizza looked dreadful, hence my decision to eat a hotdog)

Good luck. Let me know nearer the time and i'll do a run.

If people want to camp just camp. Organise it yourselves, why do you need CS to do it? Mental!

It'll never happen and nor should it.

Food was better than I've had at some Motorsport events and cheaper.

Cheese Bacon Burger and chips for £4.80 is a bargain for a start and it really wasn't that bad. Burger was a bit hard but at least it was cooked!

I never saw this survey anywhere?

Entertainment was spot on.

Members coming in and not paying isn't great. I was amazed when Tom and Revels were impressed I said I had a passenger that needed a ticket! Not much club spirit there! Can we name and shame them?

I had a good chat with Tom about my car as a few admins were walking around, also went and spoke to Brian and Luke.

I don't get what wasn't to like.

Museum was great as we got in free but as others has said, a second year viewing it would be a bit boring as it was relatively small.

I was a Mong and forgot voucher. Does that mean I can have £2.50 off my next CSS ticket???

On a serious note I echo what Laura said. A show where you park up and set a tent up next to the car would be ace, but I can imagine just how difficult it would be to make a reality.

As said by everyone though the food was rank, even more so when I ended up paying £9+ for a condemned meat burger, chips and a drink. But that's my own fault :) and also nothing to do with CS.

We don't really know who it was to name and shame.

Last year we said that if you didn't have a ticket to come into the tent and pay. About 5 people did that.

This year we were checking for tickets on entry and we sold more than 50.

I thought it was a great day at a good venue really. Food was ok, entertainment was good and plenty of space for all of us.

Shame more traders didn't turn up, but their loss really as I for one had money with me.

Everything is our fault.

Truth, except for Tom he can do no wrong in my eyes.

I may as well have a moan about me and Sy getting lost on the way to camping. Lol!

CS' fault IIRC. It was a lovely little detour...in a torrential downpour.

I had a hotdog and salad and thought it was fine! £7-odd minus the voucher, certainly seemed good calum to me. (although to be fair the burgers/pizza looked dreadful, hence my decision to eat a hotdog)

You usually eat rotten dog though. I love a good bit of calum for money.

I had to show my tickets on the gates last year iirc because I had to fumble about for them.

How many cars this year compared to last year?

Were there not potentially more people this year, hence the higher ticket sales?

Genuine question btw!

I'm not sure on official numbers.

But I am very close to naming and shaming the latest survey we've just got. Honestly can't believe some people. Why the f**k do we bother.

How bad can it be for a survey? They are simple questions.

Maybe the owners are even more retarded than first feared?
