Also went to look at the one Danny posted, was surprised they only had the 1 being an RS 'specialist'.

Looks good from outside, I like the rear more than the front, stupid place to have parked it. Think the interior is poor, reminds of the inside of a Chrysler Ypsilon.

They were very reluctant to let me sit in it. I asked for a test drive and was told nobody was allowed to drive the car. Fcuk paying £23k for it too.

I honestly don't think I've came across a salesman that knows what they're talking about lol.

Guy I dealt with was a ****. Bragging about getting 3 points in his old 225 megane on the M8 etc.

Now there's no chance of getting a test drive!

Renault are so backwards compared to other brands, I went to Toyota to get a GT86 brochure when they came out, the salesman chucked me the keys to one and said to bring it back in 20 minutes. Ford offered me the keys to a focus ST without asking.
Renault = You can have a test drive when you come to collect your new car.

showed the slightest interest in buying the focus st, asked me am I over 21? Threw me the keys. I came back with a massive grin on my face wanting to buy the car.

Renault wanted me to commit to part exing my old car before considering letting me sit in the Clio I was looking at!

when the 197 came out I pulled up in my 172 and was told if I wanted to test drive a 197 they wanted me to put a deposit down on it first?! lol!!!

i remember when the 197 came out, i turned up for a test drive at Renault northampton (they actually had a demo car shock horror!) pre booked etc, i was then told i needed to be 25 to drive it (think i was 22/23 at the time)

i walked out and got in my V6, went to drive off and the salesman had actually ran out of the building to stop me, pretty much begged me to come and drive the 197 LOL

I've never had any problems test driving any model at Benfield Renault Carlisle, but some of these stories are horrific! Come on Renault time to up your game or it'll be game over very soon!

Been down to have a look around one today

Again like Fred, I wasn't able to test drive as its a stock car for the showroom, unsure if there going to order a Demo car.

The car itself pleasantly surprised me, looks wise agree with others that they don't photo well and look a lot better in the flesh, altho saying that the only reason I could pick it out of the line up of other "Normal clios" was the colour and the position of the DRL's.

Had a little sit in the car, like others found the seats comfortable and supportive doesn't stop me thinking the car needs recaros tho! First thing that struck me upon starting up the car was the God awful fake soundtrack can't believe Renault thought this was a good idea! Sounded just ridiculous and annoying tbh Yes it can be turned off but it should never have got anywhere near this car..

The Interior IMO is a decent improvement, feels a little more upmarket and I found the rear leg room was also quite decent, was pleasantly surprised with the speed and reaction of the dash, touch screen felt reasonably responsive and loaded quickly, was expecting a nightmare 5 second wait for each screen but that wasn't the case..

Just need to arrange a test drive in one now, could be the perfect shared car for me and the misses, Just needs a few more tweaks i.e. recaros and some decent PCP deals!

Update. Dropped my car off and enquired. They (Renaultsport specialist) don't have a demo and wont be getting one.
They had a megane redbull outside, only 25 made apparently, not allowed to test drive that either.
