Dci tuning thread

1400 for the 65/80 and 1600 for the 100. However we don't need that. The pressure doesn't need to be higher, it's just the flow capacity of the pump that needs to be higher.

tdci runs 1400 too

That's ok then. One less issue.

1.8 pumps seems to be built better looking at owners forums.

Non chrome coated pump aswell ! WIN ! :D means it won't s**t itself all inside the fuel system

Just emailed a diesel company that special with reconditioning and testing of the ford / jaguar group fuel sytems.

Hopefully I should get a graph or readout from a 1.8 TDCI pump on the test bench. Aswell as pulley sizes , Pump RPMs and feed pressure to The pump :)

If not, i'll buy a second hand pump, take it to be tested and then see where that gets us all.

Not to worried about injectors yet as its no good changin injectors without the flow to back it up :)

Just been out in the dci, was fairly fun, forgot how mad they sound with a straight through exhaust.

Mine sounds proper grumpy when going for it. Think the clearances on the valves are getting abit sloppy as I can hear them tapping under hard throttle.

I just love the turbo whistle :D

alwas buy a cheap 65 when we've found the right fuel mods

id have to buy a proper sport front end and another subframe before messing with it.

will a diesel cooler be benificial ? like the lads do to pd engines?

thy do for power builds lol im just thinking it could help the pump keep peak power. its a grey area but might aswell go all out if doing it.

forged engine will only happen if it cant handle llot more power past 130

nah, it'll be the rods giving up, or the crank.

we'll see. i'll get mine mapped by paul rstuning , get the fueling right nd it'll be rate

might get a custom copper gsket made incase i run high boost. ( mini specialist can make to order )

I think they might Underneith near the tank.

Its abit like Citroen and peugeot have a little fuel rad near the tank aswell.

All I'm looking at is reliability of the system :)

always good to consider this kind of modifications!

btw, if you need a good intercooler try looking for a euro4 dci logan item. they're roughly the same dimensions as the dci 100 intercooler although they're 1,5x as high. i bought one for 90 euro's from daciashop.eu

http://www.daciashop.eu/dacia-logan-1-5-dci-euro-4-intercooler-8200409045

only need to make custom fittings but that wouldn't be too hard. still have to test fit but i'm convinced it'll work :)

Found it after searching part databases, measurements where given so i could make a good comparison.
i think the hose connection are a bit wider from eachother but anyway makes for a good priced intercooler :)

cost €157 here in nl but after searching the pn on google i found daciashop :p

just fitted the dacia intercooler, it's only mounted with a few zipties atm but i can tell you it fits like a charm!
only had to cut of a few small bits and it sits perfectly now.

made a few pics for reference:

No exactly the same, only the left one is a little bit lower so it was a bit of a stretch with the original hoses.

Quite an interesting thread this. After owning the 306 I'm quite fond of derv lols.

Didn't realise you still had the DCi, Ant. Was tempted to get one when I was looking for the 1.2

What's the difference on the 3 DCi's?

Iirc its:
65 - no intercooler
80 - intercooler but same turbo
100 - different turbo and different ic.

Are there no internal, pump, injector differences?

65 injectors are different ( if one went it needed four down to some coding thing, they changed it later on so you could just swap the dodgy one )
80-100's share the same. Just fuel pressure ramped up to 1600 bar on the 100's

100's got a different gearbox aswell

65/80 have 25mm pins on the pistons
100 have 26mm

Led to beleive the crank is made stronger aswell

  R5 gtt, R27 F1 team
Yeah true but that wouldn't be that hard. Arleast it fits decent between the beams etc.
or find yourself some 100 hoses which won't be easy :p

That's the problem, non of us know what they'll take before throwing a rod.

They can take a beat in tho. Unless been treated like crap by no servicing since new.

Little update. Diesel BOB has got back to me via email. He's going to try get the flow rates of the three pumps i requested.

1.5dci
1.8tdci
2.0-2.4tdci

  R5 gtt, R27 F1 team
Could be worthfull to try and fit a clio sport intank pump.

regarding the bottom-end, i'm lucky having a dci 100.

would be interesting what bob finds out! If it turns out the pump flow the same then probably it's because of the lift pump which would be great news!

  R5 gtt, R27 F1 team
And then go for a mapping session again? :D

hopefully we'll find out soon. Only problem for me is i don't have anyone near to map it...

do you have an uprated clutch too Hms?
