I seem to remember that you can buy some stuff to soak into tyre surfaces to 'rejuvinate' the tyre...particularly useful for half worn semi slicks etc. I think it's used in the karting world but banned from most car race series iirc. Anyone come across it? Apparently makes quite a difference...

I'd avoid using #85 tbh - it's extremely harsh and in 99.9% of cases unnecessary. It's also not really suitable for use with a DA as they're not really powerful enough to properly break down the abrasives. Awesome work on that bootlid though! But as the others said, wetsanding with no PTG is...

From memory you'd need to take the lever off which is a bit of a faff...why not just mask it off and use some hammerite spray on it or something?
