Clutch options 182

any suggestions regarding clutches for a 182 that’s used on the road and track.

Car will be getting a black line diff fitted.

Any first hand recommendations welcomed. Leaning towards the Sachs Performance Kit 🤦🏽‍♂️😭

Interested also in LUK experiences of getting tracked with moderate vigour amongst others

Also: any recommends on good driveshafts. Wondering if it’s worth replacing whilst I’m in there….

My mate blew a hole in his gearbox with a Valeo clutch. Last lap of Silverstone as well. Might have been a Chinese special though.

I think my current machine has a Valeo but I’m putting a Sachs Racing clutch with organic plate in when this one lets go.

I‘ve always used Shaftec.

I’m leaning that way tbh chief

I killed my OEM one at Cadwell, replaced with a Sachs performance one.

If your driveshafts are okay, I'd stick with them!

When getting the clutch done on my last 182, I had a similar thought to do them at the same time as a preventative measure. Went with JR and the outer CV boot lasted about a week. Messy and expensive in labour etc; put the oem one back on!

  Whichever has fuel
Sachs Motorsport clutch and organic cover plate on mine. (From PMS)

Gripper fitted and track only, it’s lovely. (But it f**king STANK the first time I used it 😂)

That’s the direction I’m going less the gripper. As I use it on the road and would rather ‘fit and forget’

I remember reading this thread earlier in the year so I thought as I am looking at clutches I would resurrect it.

Given I can get 3 OEM clutches for the price of one Sachs motorsport one is it really worth it? Running stock power will it last 3 times as long?

If we really think its a sound investment then I will probably do it but it seems a lot more.

OEM clutches are not designed for the ass-whipping they get on a track though. They can take it for so long. My SACHs took 5 years of beating. Horses for courses.

A gearbox is more expensive than a Sachs clutch as well if that helps? So £100 valeo vs £££’s for the gearbox you need to replace because the £100 valeo s**t it’s pants.
