in principle, thats a good idea! Plus, you have control over which product is dispensed as foam. Some of the car wash ones are caustic as hell and will damage gloss trims etc.

However, you're looking at pumping those IK foamers up at least 6 times to get a decent layer of foam around the car. Its really not worth it imho.

unless you went for the rechargable auto pumping one tbf. That would work nicely.

For what its worth, id sack off foam altogether and just use a standard pump sprayer with some good pre-wash such as BH Surfex etc etc. That will do just as good a job as the foamer would
Yes, was thinking of using Surfex HD in case these are crap, and skip the snow foam bit.
Didn't know there were some battery operated, and just had a look. You can find cheap ones, but reviews are bad , and I won't pay £80-£90 for a good one.

Exactly this. I've also got an IK foamer that I use for the wheels to give the cleaner a longer dwell time. Works great for that put you'd be pumping like a good 'un trying to do a whole car.

Definitely just get a normal, cheap pump sprayer with a good pre wash in it instead. I've got one of those with a stick.

What’s the best paint to use on brake calipers? I want to make these red. Or any other colour really, just not blue

Can't imagine the quality being the best, or if the edges will mark paintwork but 50 cloths for 20 quid isn't bad at all.

Not sure how it reduces waste though as they're either disposable (huge waste) or they're just a bit of a gimmick because I don't suppose they'll reattach and go back on the roll after washing?

Next door's builder brother decided 2 weeks ago to cut down a metal post they had on their drive with a cutting disc. Looks like the TT and the Fiesta have taken a fair hit from all the shitty little bits of metal being flung about as both of them have lots of little rusty looking spots on the bonnets. I'm fuming, and want to minimise the damage. I've got no fallout remover left at home. Will wheel cleaner do?

Wheel cleaner wont work, you need a dedicated fallout remover.

If it's got to be Amazon I'd go with the valet pro dragons breath of G Tech iron fallout remover

Swing by Macs detailing on the Lancs and see if they've got anything in.

Why not get more of the Costco ones? They're the yellow Kirkland ones aren't they? I've got two packs in the garage, they're ideal for all jobs that don't involve polishing paint.

Looking at trying out wool pads for scratch removal and foam to finish.

Any recommendations for a good wool pad set up, assume the likes of rupes would be a solid choice.

My karcher died this morning and looking a cheap replacement I found and bought this.

Was from a little old dear that knew nothing about it. The thing is f**king massive 😂 and a beast.

Can't really find anything online about them but it has a full on lance so no good for my snow foam bottle.

What are my options? A whole new lance or are those pump up bottles actually any good?

That lance should pop off the end of the trigger.

Don’t bother with pump up sprayers, they’re a waste of time.

Didn't notice that earlier and thanks, you were right.

It unscrews so I'll just have to fit a snow foam bottle that screws on.

Legend. Are these quick release things any good so you dont have to use the full lance?

Seems most people use them these days.

Yes, white one for general rinsing and green for a bit more power.

Yellow and red are a bit too strong of a jet to use on cars.

Long time since I've ventured in here.

Wheel brushes specifically for between the spokes, What are we using nowadays as I still have my Wheel Woolies but presume something else must be all the rage many years later?

Also a general tyre/wheel face brush?

I still really like the toilet brush EZ, along with maybe the small ez and a good soft " face brush".

My windscreen fogs like the bloody mist on the Mississippi in the morning in the Cayman.

I've cleaned it but when it's really cold it still happens.

Any tips?

Are the windows clean and do you keep the air conditioning on all the time?

I only really have fogging up of the windscreen when its damp in the cabin (had aeaking roof on my 350Z) or when the windows aren't clean.

I have used Rain X Anti Fog which helped a bit.

Not damp.

AC is on all the time
It's not condensation but just very misty and the max window AC setting doesn't do much until the car warms up...
