Forgot to add the billet alloy 250 inlet to r26 throttle body adaptor arrived from Veban Motorsport. Nice bit of kit, ill get it fitted after my hols.

Tapered design for good flow and sized correctly to match both opening sizes.

Updates.

Kangoo was looking a bit sad and paint was a bit flat with slight oxidation on the roof, bumpers/plastics faded and a bit of oxidation on the headlamps. Ive not polished it since last cut 4 years ago so its done quite well with a handful of applications of c2v3 over the years.

Had a spare half day today and weather was ok, not hot and cloudy so give it a once over.

Snowfoamed with Bh autofoam, Washed and detail brushed all the awkward bits to remove any moss and shite. Decontaminated with BH Korrosol to get the iron fallout off.

Dug the da out and give it a single stage polish with Chemical Guys V38 final polish and a soft finishing pad, light touch as it doesnt have loads of paint on it and i dont have a depth gauge.

Low effort tape job to keep the compound off the plastics.

Paint came up quite easy with a single or double pass per panel. I then panel wiped the residue off and applied a coat of collinite 476s wax to seal it. Nobody uses waxes any more but i rate collinite, the paint pops and it lasts ages and very easy to work with compared to ceramics.

The bumpers were looking well faded. I have used a few ceramic trim restorers over the years and some are ok, some average. With a bit of reading i opted to use Ceracote ceramic trim coat restoration kit. Its pre packed wipes that you apply with no buff off.

Pre application pic, faded and previous compound on the plastic.

I scrubbed the plastics down with neat apc and followed up with a quick rub over with isopropyl alcohol in select areas to remove any previous products.

Once dry i applied the wipes. The product is easy to work with and 1x wipe can do half a bumper so it goes a long way.

Much better.

Fin, much better.

The ceramic coating needs an hr to go off. Had been on half an hr and felt spots of rain (fcuking typical) so had a mad ten mins shuffling the cars about to get it in the garage to cure.

Under cover.
20240825_133452.jpg

A couple of spots did not affect it luckily. Will see how it fairs.

Took it for a run out after to blow the cobwebs off. Still brutally fast for what it is.

Small update

Rear towing eye cover has been knackered for ages with clips broken, looks like previous owner has reversed into something and bumper has a few battle scars. I occasionally pop it back into place when somebody suggests that its ready to fall off.

Looks shite.
20240907_131604.jpg

I was looking for a bumper to replace it but low on the priorities as most have similar damage or more damage than current one. It actually dawned on me the other day that replacing the towing eye cover might be a sensible option.

£9 delivered off ebay.

Not perfect but looks much better, its clipped in and secure so that will do.

Took it for a decent run out yesterday as not moved in a while, and weather is turning so it will be off the road soon.

Nothing to report - its still fcuking fast with terrible mpg 😆 good fun hustling all the modern stuff in it though.

I adore this thing so much. Is it weird I come back every few months and read the full build again🤣. Will you ever part with it?
Cheers mate! Appreciate the feedback.

I cant believe ive had it coming up 5 years in November and its been on the road 3.5 years.

I will prob sell it at some point to be fair. I wouldnt even know how to price it though as there is so much money in it now.

Still got loads i want to do to it. Ecumaster install and a large garrett turbo, improve suspension furthur. Got a few ideas for the rear suspension to improve it as its a bit too soft on the rear.

Small update.

Was planning to go to Oulton in it on Sat last week but had so much to do at home had to rain check it.

Anyway give it clean up on Sunday. Bumper plastics still look great no fading as of yet. Took it out for some running about to pick up building materials.

Updates.

Winter coming and ive sorned it until next spring.

Took the ds1.11 pads out and refitted stock pads to save the good ones falling apart. Discs coated in xcp rust block to stop them rusting like fcuk.

Winter prep.
20241102_135623.jpg

Give the Ast's and the suspension a once over and all good. The coilover sleeves have done a grand job of keeping the shocks clean and the coating of rust block has kept all corrosion away.

Coilover sleeves keeping the shite off.

White compomotives needed some serious tlc. The barrels on the front ones had a ton of brake dust on and the rears had grease sprayed on them which had gone solid. Cleaned up good with bilt hamber autowheel and a bit of brake cleaner for the real stubborn stuff. Quick rub over with gtechnic c2v3 and in the wheel bags until next year.

Back to white.

Stuck the r26 wheels on for now. Looks half reasonable on them.

Winter wheels.

Ive got a few mods planned so will start looking at them soon.

2025 update.

Winter has about fcuked off so best get some prep done ready for the kangoo's return to the road.

Checked fluids, Disconnected injectors and coils and cranked engine to prime oil system. Once injectors and coils connected, hit the switch and it started instantly with no fuss as if it had been running yesterday. Took it for a quick spin round the block to derust the brakes, they were barely rusty as coated with xcp rust block but saved any shite going over the white comps.

First job was change oil and filter. Got oil up to 80deg temp and dropped it. Came out clean and nothing to see as had only done around 900 miles, probably didnt need doing but no harm.

Wooden ramps on the job as hard to get jack under.
20250329_093458.jpg

Millers cfs.
20250329_105324.jpg

Clip on funnel ftw. Tight against bulkhead!
20250329_105253.jpg

With that job done next one was aux belt and kit. Belt looked OK but by age it was due, and id noticed a couple of chirps on cold start when used last year. Upon removal the tensioner was seized and when i released tension to remove the belt it just stayed in a slack position. Was shocked to see that as oem renault/8000 ish miles tops. Not good but easy fix as had the new aux kit in stock.

Ten mins to do as easy access.
20250329_103958.jpg

Next job was light refresh to brakes.

Wheels off.
20250329_114306.jpg

Fronts needed little work, removed pads to check ok, bit of ceratec and fitted the ozert engineering pins to make future pad swaps easier. Opted to leave stock pads in for now will stick the ds1.11 back in at some point soon.

Ozert pins fitted.
20250329_114737.jpg

From previous inspection noted rear pads did not look great, pad material crumbling. Removed and looked as crap as id seen when using a mirror on a stick.

Not good.
20250329_114321.jpg

Give calipers a light going over, pistons were still free so lightly greased with red rubber grease and wound in easy, sliders greased and new pads in.

Apec pads fitted.
20250329_114652.jpg

Id like some better rear pads but from last look round hardly anywhere does kangoo/citan uprated pads especially rears and i dont think they cross ref with any other cars. Ebc poss do an option which would be better but stock will do for now. Discs are still within spec but could do with changing at some point, itll go again for now though and ill look at options soon. Poss caliper upgrade if any meg rs options will fit?

With that done i got the summer wheels out and refitted.

Mo6/cup2 combo
20250329_131954.jpg

Still love the look on the Comps.

Give the engine bay a quick wipe down, all looks ok. The cam cover could do with a wipe down to clean the old xcp off it but that can wait until another day. Ive got a new ramair filter to fit as this one is a few years old now but typically did not arrive until id finished, will fit it tomorrow.

Looks ok a couple of years since fitting.
20250329_141026.jpg

All easy work half day and good to go again. Going to tax it again on 1st April and get it used a bit. It done nothing last year and its a shame to leave it standing about.

Thanks for reading!!

For the rear brake setup, could you not look at the Twingo 133/Clio MK3 tCe discs and stubs setup?

Will have a look into both (y) stub axle is removable on this but its massive compared to any of the clio/meg from memory. I done a bit of digging last night and it looks like the id of the kangoo rear bearing is 30mm/62mm which is r26 spec so the 300mm mk2 rs discs might bolt on. Abs rings look more or less the same so that could work without too much hassle. Im going to measure bolt centres on the r26 to see what they are as there is a caliper extender bracket on the rear on the meg as stockto move caliper outwards for the larger rears.

I love this thing so much.

One cheapo on eBay at the moment. If I lowered and got a set of those wheels would this be sad of me😂

Cheers mate, do it they are hilarious to drive. 4 stud wheels on them so loads of compomotives in larger sizes in 4x100.

Ive seen a couple of citan swb for sale recently on facebook marketplace. One was v cheap but ex builders van so prob needed a load of repairs.

The way you’ve done yours is probably the way to go. Decentish bodywork and replace the rest. I just don’t have even a tenth of your knowledge though. I just like the idea of a van. Must be an age thing

There’s got to be something in the Renault parts bin that will fit. The whole model lineup is one big happy inbred family.

If not, I’m sure someone would be able to knock some brackets up to do something different. I might be wrong but does @Pep not do that type of thing?

Let me know if you want the 133 stuff measuring, I've got a full setup in the garage

The calipers are the same TRW ones you'd get on a MK3

Cheers mate appreciated. Ill have a look soon its a slow burner this one.

Got to be something that will work without too much fuss. Cheers for the heads up on custom adaptor brackets will bear that in mind. Thats what i love about cs, so many skilled people on here that can sort a solution👌

@Brigsy if you were to sell what would you advertise for?
Honestly i have no idea how much id sell it for. Basically ive got so much money in this i wrote off selling it whole as assumed id have to part it out, to try and recoup as much as poss and i reckon it might be half the build cost at best. Its the only build ive ever tallied up costs on and its been horrendously expensive. To put it in perspective i could have a m2 comp sat in its place, but it is what it is and ive had some fun in it so its not all been bad.

Small update.

Quick hour on it yesterday, new ramair filter arrived so stuck it on. It should be a ten min job but with it being tight in the bay its either scuttle off or battery out. Opted to remove scuttle as its simply bolted in and had chance to clean out any crap built up.

Good access with scuttle panel off.

Old filter. 4 years old so in the bin.
