Finally got around to raising the rear suspension a touch today as it was sat a little too low for my liking. The wheels did need a little bit more poke so I bought some 5mm spacers. Slapped them on and with the car sat better in could refit the rear diffuser too.
Thats better and I do believe it's finally back in one piece! Road trip to the shitty side of the Pennines tomorrow so fingers crossed it comes back in one piece again.
It needs a bloody good clean and some pdr and the ac gassing and I think it's finished then. Dunno what to do with it then, I wanted to bring it to CSF but I can't make that this year so I guess I'll have to see how much use it gets when the weather is better.

Drove to buy the Mongdeo off @Klumpy Dumpy yesterday and some spakka in a fiesta cut me up causing me to brake heavily. This caused a clunk from the front suspension that's definitely not supposed to happen, so that needs looking at again. The car drove fine afterwards so that's a plus. Then on the way home I was rewarded with this s**t

What's the fault code it's giving you?

Does look like pre-cat.
8200830903 is the part from what i can see.
Which is a Bosch unit.
Edit: Although it does depend on the connector type, it could also be a Bosch LS6046 (same as a 182) if it's an oval connector.
Probably best to get under and have a look.

That code suggests the second sensor to me. It is saying the cat isn't working as well as it should be.
A cheap fix for now would be to fit an angled spacer to the sensor.
That doesn't fix the cat being past its best (which will probably get picked up on its next MOT) but it will get rid of the fault.

Could be right, i assumed bank 1 sensor 1
I'd log the sensor voltage and see what it's saying.
Should be steady voltage if it's working and cat is ok.
Jacked the clio up again at the weekend and checked the front suspension over. I even removed the wipers and scuttle to check the top mounts and nothing was loose or showing any evidence of having moved, then while talking to my dad about it he's saya the clunk could possibly have been the engine moving 
. It might be time to fit the new engine mounts I bought last year then. So I fitted the air filter that's been in the boot for a while.

My daughter messaged me the other day requesting a car wash day so after scrubbing the twingo that hasn't been washed since I last washed it I gave the clio a once over. The replacement passenger side headlamp was a bit scabby so I bought a kit to sort it a while ago.
It alleges minimum sanding and a permanent uv protection afterwards.
It was a lot easier and less messy than a drill sanding kit and made a decent improvement. Could still do with new headlamps as the plastic is old and crazed. Anothe job ticked off.
Gave the car a wash after and a rub down with a clay mit, omg how satisfying is that to do

Having a trip to the motorist tomorrow and it might be the first time in a clean car

One part of it was tracked down to the drivers seat so I'll have to remove that and have a look to see if anything is loose. More clunking was happening though so back up in the air for a spanner check after having a quick look areond it and the drivers wheel again seeming to be a bit far forward .
Assume favourite position.
Full spanner check done and nothing loose so dropped it back down and still clunking when steering so I sprayed some lube on the steering column uj and clunk gone. Wtf? That is very frustrating.
Even more frustrating is that later that day the car decided it doesn't like the keycard anymore and won't talk to it.
So here we go again using the key in the passenger side door lock to get in the bloody thing. Last time I sent the keycard off to someone on ebay to be repaired and I might do that again but first I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get a new one supplies and programmed by Renault. There's a Renault dealer over the road from work, unfortunately it's a Stoneacre who are on my s**t list due to an bad experience I had with a seat ibiza I bought from them ages ago so I might just look elsewhere. Obviously now I've to piss about to get in the thing rain is forecast later this week.
I'm off to Newby Hall on Sunday for cars in the park, in the M2, again.

I used the M2 all last week and may well continue to do so because just getting in the clio is a ballache atm.
Otherwise I'm contemplating swapping the BC coilovers for some bilsteins. The cars probably not going to see a track and the bullies on the 182 were great and since fitting the BC's and all the other fresh suspension parts the cars just not felt as good as I want it to. Maybe it needs a proper set up doing and I am tempted to send it to Joey's Speed Shack for just that but then if I am swapping coilovers I'd be better waiting. A plan needs to be decided upon soon.
I was pissing about in the garage this morning and the rear diamond offended me more than usual so I spent 10 mins scraping the paint off it. It passes the 10m test so will do for now. Praise be to people who don't prep correctly

.I randomly decided to ring an auto locksmith to try and get a working card sorted for the clio. Confucius says that only Renault can supply a fully hands free keycard and they have to be ordered from le Fronce and aftermarket keycards will only start the car when in the dash slot. Turns out that's bolloks. My chosen locksmith on Google turned out to be my old neighbour and he wasn't certain if it would be hands free or just not but hey presto it works as it should and I can stop getting in the passenger side now. Slight discount too so I'm well happy .
. Ever since I got the car the dashboard has said the key card needed a new battery. Obviously I swapped it more times than was necessary but the message persisted. Now it's gone.
I feel a slight sense of loss, like an old friend has departed but also I'm happy that another fault has been cleared. Value added

How many ignition cycles has it had since the key battery was done?
I know it takes a few before it registers sometimes. I think you can press the unlock button like 6 times to force reset it.

I used it for a year or so after I sent the key away for repair but it always asked for a new battery. It's relegated to emergency use only now and I might even get another one in a month or two so I have two working keys.
There's a posh house with a big garden a couple of miles up the road and they started having classic car shows there a couple of years ago. "classic" being 2010 or older so I snuck the clio in today's show. Didn't take any pics as usual and managed to get a terrible pic of the clio in the rain .

.The clio has been making all sorts of creaking and clunking noises lately. I think it might be time to send it to Mick at Diamond again to be sorted. But before that I'm debating swapping the BC's for Blistein B14's. They were mega on the 182 and I'm just not enjoyng the BC's as much.

Thankfully the clio wasn't in pieces for long after my last post. The bumper wasn't on right and kept popping out on the passenger side which was doing my head in. I managed to tweak the headlamp position which relieved some pressure on the bumper. It still pops out occasionally so I need to sort a fixing out. I also gave the suspension a check over again as I'm paranoid it's going to fall apart at any moment. Everything is tight.
It's now booed in with Mick at Diamond Motors and hopefully he will be able to diagnose what's wrong and give me back a great handling clio.
I did have a close call the other night. After a ruckus on my gf's street a lads Polo was set alight! The owner moved it out of the line of parked cars but it was only a few cars away from mine and it was a full on inferno after a few minutes. I still need to wash the VW soot off.
I'm booked in at the Renault Sport day at caffeine and Machine on the 30th so need to get the ac gassed and check the suspension again before the 2 hour trip there.
