@neil 185 bhp, pics are on the net try search for it, stats would be faster than a 172.
@ rhys I have a coneshape reddish (K&N in my opinion) inside my airbox. There are two 70mm inlets in it, and I made a 60 mm direct cold air intake from under the car. I will put pics on the net soon...
@Rhys
I would put some heat resisting foil on your ´aluminum inlet´ if you drive like 10 miles the engine is hot. The air into the K&N will be cold but if this filtered air has to go this long way into the TB it will be higher in temperature I´m sure. Maybe something to look at.

in 2005 we will race Megane RS instead of Clio RS in The Netherlands. This car was already on racetrack one month ago as Raceversion. it will have around 250 Bhp
Renault uses the excellium 5W50 in racing. Its great oil. but VERY expensive. Just stick to a full synthetic oil and youre fine.
@dirkdiggler I think your Renault Dealer are a little sick the head !! Using 10W40 which is a half sythetic oil. If your car ever uses oil with a fully synthetic oil...
had the same problem with mine, exchanged hydraulic engine mount, complete new steering rack under warranty. All ok now.
cheers
p.s. my sound was noticable when shifting from 1 to 2 and let the clutch come you heared a knock, also driving over a ´rill´in the road. You can feel the...
rica is a company based in Wateringen in Holland, they now have a second firm in Waalwijk. For a friend of mine (stock 172) said that they did some good work, well he let install the chip (costs € 455). Nothing wrong you would say. Well after one week did a dyno, cause car felt to have less...
Djeez its just a standard folks. BHP stands for brake horse power, PS is German for Pferde starke a.k.a. PK in Dutch which is paardekracht, and in French called CV (Chevaux)
Which in the end comes out on bhp=ps=pk=cv !! normal Clio 2.0 RS has 169 SAE (power calculated including the loss)...
There are two complete catalogues. Ive got them in the trailer somewhere.
I know one number 7711 156 400 and there is another one, maybe you can check if your local dealer has this number. Tell them its a spareparts catalogue of 07-2003 (make sure you have the latest)
In two weeks there is a...
I have all my stuff from our Clio racingteam, we are provided with ClioSport stuff directly from Dieppe. There is a catalogue where all the parts are in. one for the Clio 1600 rally version and also for the Cliocup. The part mentioned is only located in the latest version (july 2003) of the...
@ben R
I agree with the low amount of Rpm, my old Willy 1 peaked that power at 7050 Rpm (approx. 190 something I thought it was 191 Bhp after correction)
cheers
@dazz
What I did when I had one was :
Do a head conversion, bigger valves, steep inlet, cams, chip, devil 5 inox exhaust and a K&N bolt on and you will have around 200 Bhp. You will have to upgrade the motorjoint otherwise the car keeps hitting out of second gear. I used the back motorjoint...
@nosh there is written :
peugeot has opened the attack on Renault bringing out an 206 RC base with 177 Bhp. Renault directly reacts with a redrawn extra 8 Bhp.
The picture is a stock 172 Mk2, they claim here tghe car will be sold in Holland in september 2003. I heared it´s a special...
look in exterior-power section the tread is power up RS III, see also the changed part I mentioned. Here in Holland we CANNOT get the part from the local Renault dealer. The only way I can get it is directly through Renault Sport in France.
Cheers
p.s. but give a try on that 8200...
see also topic : powerup your 172 there are all the changed parts already mentioned. 7700 stock Renault numbers will changed to 8200 starting numbers
cheers
changes are only higher fuelpressure and a different inlet (I gave allready the Renault partnumber over here see other topic) and indeed outside there are two exhausts like the V6. For the rest the car is stock.
The latest I heared that Renault is going to make only 200 cars in france, so...
butch its very simple come on.
Just loosen the screw that goes te the TB, remove the little hose in the black duct (near the TB), loosen the screw that gos to the plastic airfilter, remove the rubber belt from the top. Uninstall the plastic hose between the TB and the filterhousing. You see...
