what software do you use then to rip your mp3 disk then?
You sound like a person who knows what they are talking about!
I use nero, but in data mode, and i put the structure like this:-
D:\ (as seen on pc)
Then in the D:\ i would have the following.
01 Ministry of Sound Annual 2004...
its the gap inbetween tracks i am on about (within mp3 playback).
Some brands of car headunits actually have very little gap in between tracks making mix cds sounds a lot more mixed in mp3 format!
What does it mean exactly?
The higher the better, or the lower you go, the better?
Alpine and Kenwood are about 104db and pioneer are 94db on the units i am looking at.
no, its the MP3 gaps, the period of time where the player decodes the mp3. Nothing to do with CD writing software that one, thats just for CD-Audio, and MP3 is burned using CD Data mode.
COOLSPOT, that was a great game!
Haha, takes me back. Used to play it on the amiga 600, that broke, and a couple of years, i got a amiga 1200 off ebay, think i may have to get that out again! Connect it to my network i have setup i think! Amigas are still pretty cool to have today too!
Just...
can you tell me what the mp3 playback is like.
I used to own the DAB52, and i had gaps in between "MP3 " tracks, is the DAB54 any better in getting rid of these gaps???
The gaps on the DAB52 was about a second, to about a second and a half.
Stuart
how does it play with mp3s?
Is there a gap in between each mp3 track? like previous sony models!
(the gaps were about a second long) 1 second too long!
Stuart
Would it be ok for me to go into halfords and put a mp3 disk into the display headunits and test each unit out? Do halfords allow that?
Just want to see what each head unit will be like with mp3 loading between each track.
The sony 9900 and the new jvc units look rather nice!! but it will be...
I am a newbie too, but since no one else has SO FAR replied, i will have a go.

YEAH DAVID! VERY NICE!!
What make and model is it? I noticed you have the display working up top too!
Does it play mp3s nice? and, most important of all, ... Does it play mp3s without any gaps in between tracks??? If a gap, how long, 0.5 secs, 2 secs??? Etc.....
Stuart
i agree on the blaupunkt too, very nice system, sounds fantastic through standard rover speakers too.
Sold mine though as mp3 loading (in between tracks) is slow, and thats important to me as i listen to mixes most often than not.
Stuart
i dont have the option of opitmax.
On the isle of wight, all we have is Texaco (many of), safeway, sainsbury and tesco. I belive there is an esso station kicking around here and there and some other expensive stations too.
Texaco for me as its pretty much outside my door,
how do you mean burned correctly?
I use Nero 6 using decent cdrs/cdrws and i have used them in 2x sony mp3 players and 1x blaupunkt and they all have gaps on all my 20 odd mp3 cds!
Its a sont mp3/cd changer.
Compatible with renault head units via a special adapter.
Just wondering what it is like.
Does it play mix cd (in mp3 format) without gaps. It really is annoying having mix cds and them not mixing.
Stuart
so when you say both parts, does that mean the head up display and the stalk control?
Are there cables for Kenwoods, Alpine and JVCs? Still not decided what one to settle on just yet!
Stuart
yeah i have heard from a newsgroup about kenwoods mp3 playback.
As i listen to mix cds more than anything else, i am tempted to now go kenwood rather than alpine.
Hello people,
Just wondering, i have had a sony MP3 player and a Blaupunkt mp3 player
(both headunits) and each time it plays a new mp3 track, there is a lengthy
gap, and it doesnt sound great when you have a mix cd playing.
Anyone have any experience of mp3 playback without gaps between mp3...
I am starting to think that the standard setup in the clio may not be great, so i have been looking on a few car audio websitesand noticed some nice h/units.
JVC, Alpine and VDO.
Any opinions?
What ever radio i get, it will need to have MP3 capabilites and be able to take DAB in the...
hi there, same situation as you, got digi pack and i am waiting for my car too.
It doesnt play mp3s, but you can buy a CD changer that does play mp3s, so save messing around with the orginal head unit, which has its own display and stalk.
The Sony CDXT70MX is the mp3 cd changer you want, you...

Stuart
