The 300 is an older model, the 120-300 is meant to be a smidge sharper, but side by side shooting with one when we did a quick test there was no real difference even when massively pixel pinching. Honestly dont bin off the 300 idea if you need 2.8 on a budget. Buy second hand locally and test...

seriously if you dont need IS. The sigma 300 2.8 is a steal, can pick them up second hand for under 1k, a second hand 300 2.8 IS L is still over 3k second hand :rolleyes:

Interesting if a mag is purely trackday based, most magazine features are of the cars involving alot of static shooting aswell as some moving and depending ont he quality/brand of the mag some require certain things like the ability to use lighting etc..

Mega pixel pinchers are generally the staff of jessops who dont have a clue and tell you more is better. Theres more to what makes a good camera than how many MP it has.

they are not flattering. The poses just make the model look uncomfortable and not exactly great for the figure background lighting is uneven, and shows lines/yellowness etc

because the circutry is not compatable and you can end up serverly damaging the cameras internals/frying the flash.

im shooting with elinchrom ranger RX powerpacks. I didnt just shoot that pic btw but it was one that was different from the norm. Sadly we didnt get the weather we had hoped for.... :( and shot without the lights in shot....

i usually have the lights out of shot, the owner wanted them in so i shot with them in the frame. I was quite happy with the result as for me its something a bit different. I like what james has done aswell though

Cheers, Ive not processed the raw file yet this was just the Jpeg which was shot onto my backup card. I tend to not really do loads of photoshopping removing stuff like that though at the moment.

rallye wasnt there, I wasnt shooting my cars (its scrapped now anyway) Cars have plates so it stayed :D

Vheap triggers are good fun but dont expect 100% reliablilty, I went up to skyports when i upgraded to serious lighting over some cheap ebay ones. You still get the odd miss fire but nothing compaired to the cheapos. Just use them for fun and dont stress to much
