Yes it was more than worth it. I can't exactly say how much the itb's cost as I had a lot of other work done..engine and gear box mounts ,LSD and the likes at the same time but I'd figure £2500 all in fitting and mapping.
If I was to do it again I'd be more tempted with the pure motorsport...
I don't mind them but think they would look better the same colour as the decals and front lip.... storm grey!
That's my two pennies worth
Those seats are lovely!
It does look like the one..same button outlay but I'm sure the one from the ph1 clio is a lighter grey?
I'll try and get a pic of mine tonight if you want.
Andy
Yep all Ph1 came with a 'retro' tape deck radio and an alpine 6 disc CD player under drivers seat.
Just bought a new/old ph1 with modern cd disc which I've replaced for the tape deck one to keep the retro-ness
Your front coilover won't fit. Where the bottom of the suspension bolts to the hub, the 182 cup hub has 60mm bolt spacing and your 182 hubs are 54mm.
Pretty sure all 172/182 and cup variants have the same ball joints. Can't you use the ones off your written off one ?
@NorthloopCup. Another question for you Mark.. Seeing as your a guru and know these hubs inside out. Can the drive flange be swapped between normal 54mm hub and 182 cup 60mm hub?
Cheers
Thanks @m&l172ph1 @LeeP86 and @NorthloopCup. That'll be why they don't fit!
@NorthloopCup Do you know the diameter of the normal 54mm drive flange ? Just so I know. I'm pretty sure the 182 cup ones are 130mm
Cheers Andy
@TimR26 its coming along nicely, major parts are swapped over and it drives Just a bit of paint on iceburg panels, 4 pot Brembo's and setup. Should be good for the 8th... Well at least I have a dead line date now!
I'd of thought it worth it as the ports aren't really matched to gaskets and ports are machined not polished. If your going to change belts there must be camshafts that go well with turbos. It would save some money while the belts are off.
@Dr Jekyll and @KitsonRis
My old shell was so badly damaged it wasn't worth saving:sob:. Luckerly none of the expensive parts were broken, so the Odyssey has become a donor shell for all the mods.
Should be ready Soon..hopefully will be even better than my old one.
It's only the 182 cups that came with 60mm bolt spacing on the hubs. All 1*2's come with ABS except 172 cups.
I'm pretty sure Cup packed 182's FF come with 60mm bolt spaced hubs.
I'm on the understanding that 182 cup hubs have a slightly different steering acumen as well as the larger bearing. @NorthloopCup has seen loads of hubs in his time!
My spec is
DTH throttle bodies
Block prep,84mm Forged pistons and rods 12.6:1,re faced head and valves, standard 172 cams
I was just after a bit more power to make it a bit more exciting to drive. Once it's warmed up fully, it's like it has another 20bhp.
Have had this engine 4 and a bit...
Just get the engine bay cleaned properly, get rid of the old carpet on the fire wall for some nimbus heat shielding.
Change steering rack bushes as said, maybe worth doing the inner track rod ends while the engines out
All depends on your budget thou.. Good luck with it.
@Mattyxsi Lol.. That was me too. A stupid cow wanted to go right at the Morrisons roundabout in the outside lane from the hospital end duel carrige way. I was in the inside lane going straight over. Result was her going into the rear side of me and saying it was my fault! Anyway it was all her...
