Thanks mate - it's getting there! not bad for a one owner from new jobby!
We are in a rare band of new mk 2 clio.. Had mine since March 2001
#oneownerfromnewfriends  lol
Hi @NorthloopCup.. What sort of paint did you use ? I've read somewhere that it may help with the rattle...not that it matters when giving it the beans!
Nice one Ben that's good to know..I do have a harness bar and pictures would be great.
I'm changing my subframes to the ones that @JON FOZ has designed. My old cobra ones have a bracket on them for an eye bolt for the inner lap strap and the outer lap strap clips on the original seat belt rail...
Hi
With those harness, do the shoulder straps wrap round a cage ? And.. Did you use the schroth brackets both sides on the seat subframe ?
Looking good as usual :up::up:
Those reviews are right @MarkX I found the AR1's had very little rubber deposits over the tyre compared to the r888's. Coming off track the AR1's were very clean, that's maybe why they didn't go off as quick as the r888.
@eon172 I'd say they are better than r888 from cold on the road and even on the track day they seemed really good from start once I sorted the pressures out. Supposedly they have 80 tread wear..r888's have tread wear of 100. It was a very warm day, I just did a lap or 2 to warm up properly then...
Yes you were right @JamesBryan and @DCELEC 182 the AR1's are an asymmetric tyre. Seeing as there's not many cuts in the tread pattern they look abit odd from side to side.
The tyres them selfs.. I'd say..in the dry they are on a par with the toyo r888 for grip, they are a quieter road tyre too...
Yep £700 and above or just go for at least £1000 as if you buy cheap your buy twice especially for track use..that's brand new gear mind. Sometimes good 2nd hand gear comes up on here. Also decent brake pads are a good idea if doing track days..£100 right there
My elm light started to go on and off for a few weeks and then stayed on all the time. Changed the front o2 sensor..light stayed off for a few days then went back to staying on. There doesn't seem to be any performance problems just the dam light! Could it be down to the cat ?..mines only done...
Rc6 pads and trox discs up front..standard OE discs and pads on rear. Yes they squeal but bite hard from cold and never any fade on track doing 20mins stints, with fog lights in place.
I would be binning those discs as that's your problem, just use genuine rear discs complete with bearings and you won't have any problems.
Don't won't to judge but buy cheap buy twice
How have I missed your project! It just looks awesome! and the plans sound like it's going to be a right weapon .
Did you feel any difference round track with the diffuser ?
Good luck with the engine build:up::up:
Sounds like a good spec..sould do well round track. Those bhp figures could be true..but it takes ££££ to get an engine to that spec, pretty easy to get these to 200bhp at the fly wheel. Check to see if the head has been matched to your bodies by looking down down them, ported ones will be...
