I ordered some converters so I can continue to use OEM connections!
So now I'm thinking a simple cut off switch like this mounted under the engine bay, so I can then isolate the battery, remove the key part and then lock on the bonnet with the aero catches.
Sound good?
NB although I would buy...
I also have a V2 Sport.
Good value for money and I think they look good, I've used mine in my mates Caterham a couple of times and been really impressed with the fit and how planted it felt on my head, but I also think different helmets suit different head shapes!
No need for FIA cut off, just want one so I can save battery power when not in use & away from home.
Can I ask my I’ll need a motorcycle one @GrahamS and why won’t a normal one work?
I've recently purchased a new smaller batter for my Clio, a Powerlite PS09, which although is great and light I'm slightly worried about it not having enough power if not left on charge. Therefore I wish to install a cut off switch so that I can ensure it'll start when required when away from...
Here are some pics as you got my looking!
This is where I mounted my adjuster, you can't see it unless you get on you hands and knees:
A couple of pics of how neat it looks:
Finally a pic of the belt:
I went for a 5pk847 which I think a few people have run on here.
Its works perfectly, plus it OEM which I love. I got my belt from ECP was only cheap. There are a few pics on my "project" thread, which is here.
Got the car back from the mechanic and really pleased.
Had the following done:
Oil change (Gulf Competition 5w-40 Racing Ester Fully Synthetic Engine Oil)
Coolant change (Renault Type D)
Fitted newly refurbished calipers
Flush the brake fluid with Motul RBF660
Fitted new Magneti Marelli...
If I'm honest I'm not sure, just from what I've read online! I think the Odyssey ones are ok for every day use but this one is much lighter. From my limited knowledge I just think this is a little low on power output, I'm not sure how long it will last if parked up for a few days not on charge...
Have you been out on a bike since? I’m still not sure if I’ll get on one once I’m fit.
Got it from a chap on Facebook Allan McDonald, if you search him, but they are hard to find, I got his last one.
As above Graham. Contact Allan he was really helpful. The battery comes with a charger as...
Parts Arriving - April 2019
So with me not being able to do much, i started gathering parts for the Clio, all going well I could be back in the car sprinting in September, so I wanted to make sure its ready to go when I'm on my feet:
Firstly I sent my callipers off to Bigg Red to be...
Cheers Ry! Hopefully theses first 3 months go quick!
A place called DGT in Basildon. I basically told them what I wanted and they did it, but I don't believe they are experienced enough to advise.
Thanks Graham. I've also got a fresh set of Interstate's.
I thought this when he first...
UPDATE - April 2018
After spending all winter replacing most, if not all suspension parts the car was felling great and I was almost ready for 2019.
I had driven the car a few times to bed in the diff, gearbox & clutch. The new brake pads where spot on and I was due to fit my newly...
So I'm looking at one of these batteries. I, like you, use my car a limited amount during the year. I think @cpaterson76 ran something similar on his old trophy.
I'm not 100% that this will be sufficient for us however hopefully someone on here will be able to help...
For ease the spec of the...
Around 2.8 however I have caster set to max.
How do slip on spacers work in regards to the wheel sitting on the hub. in my head if I run a 8mm space I've removed 8mm of room on the hub?
Sorry for the potential stupid question!
Thanks @Martin.
They definitely rub on the Coilovers. I don't know why...a friend suggested I actually measure the offset of my wheels.
As above, without the spacers it'll definitely rub. It's even on both sides also.
Ideally I don't want to run spacers but as the tyres catch on the...
Good Afternoon All,
With my AST's fitted and set up correctly I now want to address my spacers up front.
I'm currently running 20mm H&R wheel spacers (bolt to hub) however I'm moving over to a stud conversion and wanted to know what spacers people are running with a similar set up. Ideally I...
Yeah, I can't imagine how 4 would change my life!
I've booked a track evening at Brands in April, which will probably be its first outing.
I've gone for 195, as I found 205's rubbed badly. I plan on fitting them to my TD Pro Race 1.2's and using them this year, save a little weight. I'll...
