If you're in Gloucestershire, take it to Fred Hopkins at BTM Performance. It's not too far for you, get it done right, first time, at a sensible price.
A Renault dealership should be fine but will probably charge a fair bit more and it's pot luck as to how they treat your car.
I just love those 18" wheels. They look so right.
Funnily enough, there seem to be fewer M3s with these wheels than the blingy 19s.
The choice of wheels says something about the owner too (as does a pair of extra doors) ;-)
Funny how whenever anyone actually goes to view a bargain Trophy (or frankly, a good number of Trophys) as per the recent thread on ClioTrophy.net, they often turn out to be a bit ropey.
They are at that age now where they are well used and there are a lot of rough round the edges examples.
As...
I was told by Aviva that the maximum "gap" they will accept is 2 years.
I left my company car scheme and bought my own car because I did not want my no claims bonus to lapse, as it were.
No, I don't think they have to be run on higher octane fuel but I believe the 182s (and possibly all of the Renaultsport Clio range) have a sticker in the petrol cap which states use RON98 so it is recommended. I guess it must be there for a reason. Not using it shouldn't cause damage but it...
I think you are referring to the (circa) 5,000 rpm "kick" which the standard cars have which is perfectly normal.
It is like a light jolt through the car and I hated it.
The flat spot is lower down the rev range (2nd gear) where the car seems to bog down and need winding back up to get it going...
Lack of ABS is not ideal and I can understand someone saying that they wouldn't advise buying a car that doesn't have ABS.
That said, there is a reason the Cup doesn't have ABS, it is obviously a highly focused driving machine and experienced drivers of performance cars probably prefer a vehicle...
Congratualtions, enjoy the car responsibly and your insurance premiums will fall over time.
BTW, the price of the car is only a small part of the overall pricing process. The underwriters will look at the type of car, profile of driver and, to put it bluntly, how likely they think it is that...
Re: CLIO IV RS for 2013, Last news
Every time I see a new hatchback, I can't help but think what a simple timeless shape the 1*2 is/was.
They have aged so well.
None of your suggested changes will make any difference to your duel with the 106, not one little bit.
These cars are not easy to tune for power/performance. The Maxogen will make no difference but noise.
If you want a noticeable difference, save all that money and go for cams and a live map...
I don't think these cars respond in the same way as many others to basic breathing mods.
That is a hefty total and my good advice to you would be this:
- Give it a basic service (use ONLY the recommended NGK PFR?????? plugs) - couple of hundred pounds if that.
- Leave the exhaust and cat if you...
Well you can only get the Hankook V12s with a W rating in our size so from people's comments about the sidewalls, they really must be soft.
I reckon Rainsport 2s with a W rating is probably a safe bet. I am fairly sure you won't dislike them anyway.
It is a rain tyre so the compound will be...
Rainsport 2s are quite incredible in the wet and very good in the dry. They do give up a little quicker towards understeer than the PS3s on very hard cornering but we are talking right at the margins.
I also found I lost a bit on turn in but not much, although I am back on PS3s. Perhaps try...
Seems a good idea. It's not compulsory, I wouldn't have one but it addresses the usual arguments of "why don't insurance companies treat me as an individual", "I'm a good driver", "not all young drivers are bad drivers" etc. Here's the chance to prove it.
Are you going to risk jacking it up on the jacking points?
On the mk2, they are of chocolate construction and the advice is to use the chassis rails and a trolley jack.
As for the question, although the 200 is heavier, the mk2 jack must have something in reserve, does it say what they are...
