True but I think they have "enhanced" the Monza recently with that slightly lifted edge whereas the original Monza mimicked the OZ SuperT classic. I could be wrong but if this is a UK road wheel, I have never seen another SuperT like it if it is an OZ.
I still say it's a TD/Rimstock Monza.
+1 for this. I think it was the Team Dynamics/Rimstock Monza?
The classic OZ SuperT did not have the centre cap and I am not sure it was designed to take one.
To be fair, the Bible even says the standard 1.7 Puma is a 5* car whereas the FRP is 4* ;-)
I looked at both when I was buying with a very good budget. I sensed that the Trophy was just a tad quicker and it had a conventional hatchback body, which was my preference at the time.
Not much in it...
That's what I mean. I don't know if they do this but they should as a matter of course in claims.
I am not sure that they do. If you claim for a £2,000 Clio, I think they just pay it.
Interesting one this, as there must be a degree of flexibility surely. Does disclosing that your car is parked in a garage overnight (when it is for 345 days of the year) prevent you from taking it on holiday in the UK/to a hotel/cottage etc? What if you are working late/broken down etc?
I...
Awful gearknob, steering wheel, seating position, bonnet catch and wipers on the wrong side, the trim over the instrument binnacle seemingly made of polystyrene, chocolate sill supports for the jack ...
but I still love my Trophy so it must do something right!
Uniroyal Rainsport 2, Uniroyal Rainexpert or Michelin Pilot Sport 3 - visibility aside, I no longer really even consider rain an issue. With any of these, I drive pretty much the same in the rain as I do in the dry.
These tyres are my default choices for our family cars.
Yes, there are all season tyres such as the Vredestein Quatrac 3 or the Goodyear 4 Season (I think that's what it is called) which have a dual tread surface and claim to be perfectly useable in ice and snow as well as normal summer temperatures.
I assume they won't work to the extremes such as...
Well at £150, that's £37.50 (pre-refurb) per wheel. That's not bad for a popular wheel in the Renault scene.
Once refurbed, you basically have a set of new wheels. Obviously that adds another £200.
There may be better deals out there from time to time (say, with tyres) but depends how much you...
Do they have the centre caps and the removal tool?
They are rare so if they have these then can be brought back to life and will alawys have resale potential once you're done with them.
To throw a bit of a curveball into the mix, how about an all-season tyre such as the Vred Quatrac 3.
In reality, the predominant troublesome weather in the UK is cold and wet.
Would agree but Rainsport 2s in 205 45 16 are becoming very very difficult to get hold of for some reason unless UR have made a new batch.
Those who have used Hankooks tend to report they are not that good in the rain which is pretty much the predominant weather condition in the UK.
I have tried...
This will start to go the way of the winter tyres in winter debate.
A tyre is the single most important component on the car. A poor tyre can ruin steering feel, cause nervous braking, induce under/oversteer etc regardless of how fast you drive.
Buy a decent set of tyres - Michelin PS3...
You may have to try and see if the adapter can make it fit. Is there a screw at the bottom of the gear knob to tighten the gear knob against the stick?
BTW, the best gear knob for the Clios are Richbrook ones. Pretty much any Richbrook lift reverse one depending on the style you like.
The...
Well before you do anything, what have you got to replace it?
It is not a threaded shaft so if you have a screw on one, it won't fit.
It needs a gear knob with a grub screw fitting to tighten the new knob against the stick/shaft.
Cut it off with a hacksaw (seriously) to avoid putting undue stress on the mechanism beneath.
Some people have described pulling them off with swan neck pliers but having seen the lift up collar and mechanism underneath the gearlever, I would not put much stress on it!
They were not designed to...
First, get the best online price you can find.
Second, call/visit your local independent tyre fitter and ask them if they will match the price "fitted".
If yes, happy days.
If they can't match it, ask if they will fit the tyre if you supplied. I have never had one say no - forget Kwik Fit etc.
But of course. It probably is slower round a track than a 172 Cup lacking air con and the heavier seats etc. but it is the way it goes down a nice ribbon of road, the feedback it gives and the damping that is breathtaking. I have to admit to only having owned a Trophy and not sampled any of...
Whooahh! Am I sensing some Trophy hate here?
To be fair, the Cup is seen as pointless because you could get the Cup goodies on a 182 and thus have a "complete" (i.e. FF) 182.
You weren't officially able to get all the Trophy upgrades on a 182 in the UK (correct me if I'm wrong) and they are all...
