I had either a daily valver, ph1 172 or cup packed 182 for nearly 15 years, all made perfect daily drivers for my 40 mile a day commute on rural twisty roads. I have a few hairy moments over the years including having to be towed home in heavy snow in the 182.
Many happy miles!
I've just noticed the weird Clifford alarm and the lack of a standard alarm bonnet switch, did some 172s not get them fitted at the docks then?
What that car is screaming out for is a selector leak, I'm sure it's in its plans at some point! Not bitter here...not one bit!😆
Well, I'm not sure if I'm happy for you or pissed that I've spent the last two years trying to tidy my flamer up, I'm not sure it will ever be as tidy as this one. Fancy a swap?
It doesnt even look faded like mine😫
@RustyMojo I bought this one, Febi so cant be too bad and looked near identical to the perished old one.

I've got a Makita 240v with quick release blades. I decided against a battery version as it's a tool I use for my day job sporadically so I can see me having it for years, by that point battery technology will undoubtedly have moved on possibly making a cordless obsolete - I've got so many relic...
Anyone doing inner tie rods, i found the 28-35mm slip on tool to remove and replace them at a pretty good price compared to Ebay and Amazon.
£21.99 delivered from Tool Dealer
I have thought of it but I've let it get so far behind it would take ages to get to where I am. Let's hope the summer allows some fun and my gearbox magically seals itself
I've got dynax UB in the garage, just wondered if it would be a bit tacky...in a sticky way!
Why can't Renault (or their suppliers) paint ball joints? Just raw cast, always thought it wouldnt take much for they to get some protection on them, I know they are essentially a consumable part but...
Renault have done a good job of chipping a lot of the paint off my new wishbones, before I fit them I was thinking of painting them and the inner tie rods. Would simple rattle can gloss black be sufficient or is there something better to use, not wanting the expense or delay of powdercoat...
Nothing...yet, but I've had a few deliveries. Wishbones, track rod ends and inner tie rods, inner and outer powerflex arb bushes and braided front brake lines. Oh not forgetting the tie rod removal tool, just need some nicer weather!
