can't find the damn thing! I'm set up to solve this mistery once and for all ha ha!
will take measurements on my car and then hopefully some others will and clear this up. over 10 years of "cup history" and there's still a lot of debate on this
I remember renault said something about the track width on 182 cup suspension, if the hubs are the same and the wheels are still ET45 (on a 182 cup or cup pack) then the cup 182 suspension has the same track as a normal 182?
so it gains track width from the subframe, and also from the wheels which are ET 38. The hubs from a 182 cup have about the same width so doing the math the 172 has the wider track. I'm a bit surprised as to why renault would make the newer 182 narrower?!
bump on this
I found this thread http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?440438-Spring-Rates-Standard-vs-Aftermarket/page2&highlight=cup+spring+rate
and based on it the rears should be way stiffer than the fronts because of the rear beam construction.
The gaz ones are 275 lbs/in front and...
I have a whole thread about the ride height and the GAZ GHA suspension (the cheaper 500 quid version)
http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?603059-What-s-your-ride-height-GAZ-GHA-owners&highlight=gaz+gha+ride+height
Short story told, they won't go a real 60 mm drop unless you remain with...
lol you won't die alone cause I'm ok with my gaz also
To the op- I would definitely have a decent set of coilies on a supercharged clio! Just get some adjustable ones, there are many options out there.
Btw the gaz I have on the softer setting only feel just a little harder than std. I'd try a...
don't worry about the rsr split, it will wear off - that's what most experienced, I'm very pleased with the grip level they give
205/50 r 16 is too big, if the car's lowered wheel rubbing will occur
well now it's ferodo's turn to get bashed..
I'm inclined to believe that there are some bad batches out there, they still have a good reputation. mine are fine btw (no track days so far just the occasional spirited drive through the mountains)
there are obviously more ways of measuring, but I wouldn't just rely on manufacturer's claims alone, as I said GAZ for example can't give a usable 60 mm drop on the front, and going beyond 60mm is also impossible (talking from my experience)
In a non sport yes, a 60mm drop is more achievable but...
have you measured beneath the subframe before and after? that doesn't look like a 60 mm drop on the front tbh.
GAZ said that their coilover kit which I have could go 60 or more mm lower but in real life if I tried to go 60 mm lower the car would be standing on the bump stops on the front...
I was mostly referring to what happens to the angle of the lower arms and the driveshafts if lowered that much. things like the roll center will be all over the place but maybe this stuff is not that important if not hammering it about in the corners or doin' track days
Been searching a little...
by this photo they seem e little fragile http://www.wheelsjamaica.com/wheels_forum/index.php?topic=148795.50
Get the federals if they cost about the same
the back is 25-30 mm lower at the most, that's not 60 mm lower! That being said why would you want it 60 mm lower? it's hugely low and it will ride and handle like crap!
Mine for example is about 25-30mm lower in the front (measured not assumed) and even by this small amount I get occasional...
there's a engine bay temperature test on the homepage made by a member here which shows that the coolest location for a open air filter is behind the passenger headlight like the K-tec induction setup. You may as well do a similar setup by yourself, a 70mm alloy 90 degree pipe and a cone open...
well if I was to get myself a present I would definitely go for the linkage. It's winter so you'll never notice the mounts and the brace(unless your mounts are totally knackered), but you'll for sure see the benefits of the linkage! C'mon, every CS owner wants a more precise gearshift right?
be sure to have a buddy to help you and the original renault tools before attempting this. there's also a thread in the sticky area of this section which I recommend reading first
I see that you're a paid member, there's a guide in the specific section but do read other threads also because some...
