Phil, would you suspect the longer ones would be required using a DCI rack on a Trophy?
i assume the Trophy setup would be the same as a Full Fat setup.
My recommendation would be to ring a respectable specialist near you, drop the car off to them at a mutually agreed time, pick the car up once completed, and cover said specialists hands with gold coins!
Do we have any Clio Sport members that live around the Newbury area atall?
if so, would anyone mind having a quick once over a 172 at a dealers that's for sale for me please?
beer tokens available :)
The Revo 400 transforms the car, i was shocked at the difference, it even felt nicer to drive just plodding around in it, so much smoother.
I think I had mine 2 weeks before it went in to Rob @ SCC.
id certainly recommend it :)
I am going to agree with you on that Chip, having owned a green one and absolutely loving it at the time... But when I get another I will be going for a white one.
the green is a lovely colour, the gold flake within it works so lovely in the sunshine with the right wax's, but the attention it...
Do you get recovered quite a lot then?
if you only want it for trackdays, why not just wind in the normal tow eye on the day?
i only use the factory item, works perfectly.... And it's been tested after a trackday failure!! :(
I understand your opinion Nick, but having used them faultlessly on the Cossies for many years, it was my first choice this time.
when the current set, along with the spare set of DS3000's expire, I shall look at other options.
but it's got to be suitable for figment with my 4 pots.
DS2500 pads, although good do seen to crumble as disappear quite quickly once you start using them pretty hard.
i did 2 trackdays at Bedford, started with a brand new set of pads, and towards the end of the second day they were shot, and by 'shot' I do mean down to metal grinding against the...
I've just dropped my spare set off to be done in a satin black effect, but I do like the look of yours.
we are close with our Trophy's, mine is T16 PHY :)
PS: personally I'd loose the tow strap.
Those seat rails can come out, there will be more sound deadening in the engine bay, and possibly in the roof if you haven't already got it.
cut off/remove all of the rear seat hooks and buckles, there will be foam impact material in the front and rear bumper..... You can keep going and going ;)
Chip, as you are considerably more knowledgeable than myself on cam profiles and mapping requirements...
how do you think 197 cams would fair along side ITB's, or would you suggest sticking with standard over 197's with ITB's?
or just say sod it, and go for a much wilder profile?
i don't think...
Hopefully just a real simple quickly for somone to confirm for me...
am I correct in thinking, the uprated engine mounts would be the same from a phase 1 172 as to what id need to be fitting on the Trophy?
had a nice offer of some that have been removed from a PH1, but I don't want to waste...
Are the 16" wheels of the same 7" width that the OZ F1's are?
if not, then you need to factor in the difference of the wheel width to the offset to really calculate how much further the week will sit in/out.
For the track rod ends, I've happily used Lemforder items on both of our clio's over the years and all with no problem, you can pick these up from Euro Car Parts at a reasonable price.
as for the wishbones, snap these up from Renault, again they are reasonably priced IMO, so its not worth...
Yes, Pat had a nasty off and ended up in the tree's, but the JG Team pulled out the stops and got the car back together again, last minute setting up etc, but they were there on the final day.
as mentioned, they still managed to come away with a finish position of 6th.
Pretty much as per thread title, how much of a necessity really are they?
ive pretty much just replaced all of the engine mounts with brand new factory items when I did my recent engine/box swap, and the car is still yet to see a road/track since.
ive now got myself a set of AT Power bodies...
It certainly is a mental car, I know its not French or the 208, but I don't wish to be negative about the 208, for me personally being a ford guy at heart, the RS200 had a little something that caught my attention.
it also makes it more appealing to follow (from a personal point of view) as I...
For this years Pikes peak challenge I've been more intrigued and excited to see Pat Doran in the RS200 built by Julian Godfrey Motorsport, especially with all of the problems and dramas they have suffered over the later few days.
That's the problem, many think that if they are fixed securely then they will be fine.
not realising that if all the anchor points pulling it directly down, if in an accident the harnesses could actually try to crush/squash you (or to that affect)
Ha ha, if I hadn't seen many of your posts previously, and known you were into trackdays with a healthy appetite like myself, I'd tell you to not be stupid.
but, i spy a little humour ;)
