Crikey, that's even worse than mine. Must have been some fat-yank knackered the frame of that seat!
Mine are OK once you've got weight on the seat bottom, it's just the metal flexing and associated noise when getting in and out the seat that's driving me nuts and just doesn't seem right:S. If...
I bought brand new Corbeau Forza's a year ago and straight from the word go, the seat base kinda "flexes" and makes a metal flexing noise every time you sit in and out of them. I queried it with Demon Tweeks at the time and they contacted Corbeau who advised it is perfectly normal for steel...
I hear what you're all saying and generally I'm in agreement although I had a problem with sticky rear callipers which meant the pad was sitting ultra-close to the disc at all times. I eventually replaced both rear callipers with reconditioned units and now the rear wheels turn freely and the...
I spent a long time deliberating on exactly the same decision that you have to make except my ratio of road:track use is more 50:50 mainly due to the car being used as a second car, not because I'm a track day junkie. After doing a lot of research, I went with the B14 kit from KAM and have...
I was quoted £35 + VAT for each side by my local Renault dealer on Saturday. Not in stock but can be within 48 hours. There's a Renault parts store on the bay that advertises replacement handbrake cables for the 172/182 at £16 each but after seeing a couple of comments about fitment issues, I...
This is not another thread about the MOT failure issue, that's well documented and understood within the forum.
However, as a consequence of Renault's set up the rear brakes of the Cup, I am convinced that the car is capable of withstanding more braking effort to the rear to improve its...
My 53 plate 172 Cup has only done 39,000 miles but since she's 7 years old, thought it would be wise to get this done.
I would certainly appreciate any recommendations, particularly after reading the sticky about the botch-ups some have encountered.
I'm in Aberdeen/shire but would be willing...
Ordered some new OMP 4 point harnesses from Tweeks and it looks like the fixing for the shoulder straps to the rear of the car are the wrong way round. Both harnesses are exactly the same. So either I fit it this way which means the harness will kind of loop over the top of the bracket back...
Narrowed my seat choice down to these two and would appreciate any comments to help me decide. Each seat would be fitted on the seat manufacturer's specific Clio subframe and I assume they would be similar so frames shouldn't really influence the decision too much. I'm 5'5" and 31" waist.
Thanks.
Yozzasport does sell a kit but it's a bit extreme and a tad expensive at £130. I'm just looking simple replacement plastic surrounds that have been manufactured to slide a duct onto.
Can someone tell me where I can buy replacement plastic fog light surrounds suitable for attaching brake ducting?
I had a look at Hill Power's website and they sold them but can't get a hold of anybody there and understand they may no longer be trading.
Somebody else must make them?
I also give this a thumbs up. I have 3 cars insured on their multi-vehicle policy. Not only are the quotes some of the best around but with an extra 10% discount for the multi-vehicle policy, it is definitely worth considering.
I'm looking at buying bucket seats for my Clio 172 Cup and there is so much choice out there with the likes of Cobra, Corbeau, Sparco, etc that I thought I would check whether the subframe fitment should be influencing my decision. I will be buying the seats with Clio-fitment subframes.
Are...
After doing nothing else to my braking system except fitting new rear calipers, I have found that I have a tad more travel in my brake pedal hence giving me the impression that my brakes don't feel as strong as before (the reason for changing the rear calipers was due to the old ones constantly...
I need a pair of bucket seats for my 172 Cup which I will be using for track days. Don't want to spend a fortune, was thinking £500 for seats, frames, harnesses.
A search on ebay located two possible candidates:
1. Cobra Monaco Pro £299 for 2 seats...
Thinking about these for my 172 Cup which will be used for track days. There doesn't seem to be much comments on them in the forum. They are fixed damping.
Anyone got any opinions, whether good or bad? Cost is approx £800.
Hi all,
I have a Clio 172 Cup that is primarily going to be used as a track car with occasional road use. I want to fit a sports exhaust partly to squeeze a few more bhp’s but mainly to giver her a better voice on track.
I would be grateful for suggestions of the best exhaust to meet my...
I've got a trackday coming up on Saturday and the weather forecast looks crap.
I bought myself a brand new set of Toyo R888's but now wondering whether my road tyres (Continental with 75% tread) would be better.
Opinions/advice appreciated........
Pretty sure. It's the only thing left to try.
Upon jacking the car up, rear wheels will turn fine with hands but after applying the brake pedal and releasing, the rear wheels are really stiff to turn. If you turn the wheels backwards by hand, it frees up. After screwing the rear caliper...
Fed up of the rear callipers on my 172 Cup constantly sticking and decided to get new callipers. Can anybody recommend where to try for that? No second hand/breaker yards, has to be new. Cheers.
I did my first track day in my 172 Cup a few weeks ago and although I can't comment on how the standard factory set up would have coped, I upgraded with the K-tec kit consisting of brembo HC front discs, s/s lines and ferrodo front pads. Left the rears completely standard. There are no other...
Thanks fellow Scot! (Aberdeen loon here)
A sticky calliper was what I thought.
How did you fix it? Did you buy the overhaul kit or replace the whole thing.
My rear brakes seem to be sticking slightly. Not enough to cause serious concern but obviously not 100%. Braking performance is fine and handbrake holds well, it's just that the brakes don't seem to release enough to ensure the wheel spins nice and free. Has anyone encountered that problem...
