I’ve had a few different brands of clay bar but have gone back to bilt hamber as it’s by far the best.
Really easy to work with and I’ve always found it to pick up the most contaminants compared to the likes of af and meguires...
Scholl concepts purple spider pad and scholl concepts s17+ compound is perfect for a one step polish, Gets rid of swirls effortlessly.
Detailing kingdom next cut 1.1 polish is also great.
Cheers mate! I’ve always been into jap if I’m honest but never been able to afford what I’d like until now, never had rwd though so that will take some getting used to.
It’s being imported through Bhp imports, great blokes and quite particular with the selection of cars. They’d tell me to stay...

After getting the car back yesterday I refitted the front mud guards as mentioned above and applied new Velcro coins for the front number plate. I also removed the wind deflectors before dropping the car off to polish them and apply HDD hydrology, These were also refitted yesterday also.
Car...
Cheers guys, black washers are staying though ?
Picked the car up yesterday morning. can’t believe how great It looks now, they’ve done a great job of it and the colour match is spot on. Being more cautious now as to how I drive to prevent any risk of stone chips in my fresh paint hahah...
Couple more small bits to update, decided to change the blue washers on the battery cover fixings to black ones which looks a lot smarter and oem.
Before as can be seen above but I’ll repost anyway.
And the new black replacements fitted.
The eagle eyed viewers may have spotted in the...
Cheers mate!
Appreciate the kind words! ?
Not many problems really no more than your average car. The main faults are the window regulators fail (usually when you’ve got the window open, and the swivel hubs need the needle bearings replacing. Apart from that it’s just general maintenance...
Few things to update since last time I fitted, Had new genuine rear discs and pads fitted at ddc.
dropped the car off today to have the bonnet, front bumper, wings and mirror caps repainted as they suffered with a lot of stone chips and road rash. Hopefully get it back at the weekend but here’s...
I prefer them to the Half leathers if I’m honest they are a great looking seat. Did you fit them in your mrs’ car? Just curious as to if they will need a resistor for the airbag plug?
yeah they certainly don’t hahah!
I’ve had a few people tell me to scratch the itch of an evo before buying a...
For the last few weeks I’ve been looking at evo 8’s and Nissan s15’s and I must admit I’ve been very tempted but with me and the girlfriend wanting to get a house (mainly due to me wanting a garage) the money would be better spent on a house deposit.
With that in mind I’ve decided to keep the...
Cheers everyone!
Appreciate the comment! trying to get it to the same standard the flame red 172 was. Once the front has been resprayed I’ll be happy. After being out in my mates dc5 above though I’m kind of tempted by one :grimacing:
Fitted a new genuine Renault front splitter yesterday, tried a few different universal ones but wasn’t happy with how they looked so went back to standard. Finishes the front end off nicely!
The photos above had a genuine splitter on which had only been on since February but with the car being...
Appreciate the comments guys!
Cheers mate! Engine cover may have gone tits up when clearcoating so will have to look when Im home :weary:
Thank you
It’s getting there now I have thought about it before, would probably look better but after running one on the 1.2 a couple of years ago...
Had the ktec exhaust fitted. Has a nice deep tone, quite loud when having a spirited drive but still tame driving round town.
In the last few weeks it’s also had a new driverside drivshaft as the old one was clicking when turning. Also with the bad weather one night in particular with it being...
Cheers mate! Could have spent longer sanding all the minor pitting out but just wanted to smarten it up.
Also had ddc do the full cambelt kit, aux and water pump. Been on a bit of a purge to freshen the car up and make it mint so with that in mind the Bonnet carpet lining had to go. With it...
Not updated this for a while. Been thinking about an exhaust for a while and finally I’ve took the plunge on a second hand one that came up local! Its a ktec 3” catback system, it was up for £350 with the ktec 3” decat but wasn’t bothered about this for various reasons so made a deal for £250...
Osram led w5w. Got them on my Meg on front sidelights and numberplate lights, nice white colour and bright too. They aren't the cheapest but worth it and have 3 year warranty Or something like that
Looks great R spoiler makes such a difference! As well as the short shift I'd look at putting new engine mounts on too, the gear change should stiffen up if the current ones are quite worn :)
