Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
I've fitted 3sets of aerocatches and it never gets any easier! Was easier putting them into carbon firbre bonnets using a dremel and whole saws.
Good luck is all I can say! :)
I just wandered if anybody knew if you can get any race pads for the willwood calipers.
The caliper which can fit under a 15" wheel.
I have tryed looking on the Internet but am having a day of fail and can't find any info.
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Where's the 3rd bolt which goes into the engine mount/cambelt cover? Its missing on your car so you only have 2 bolts holding your engine inplace instead of 3.
Do JMS not replace it when they did the conversion or have you forgotten to put it...
Looking much better now, ITB's give a much nicer drive over the standard FBW.
Do you know what size trumpets your running? They must be shorter than 90mm for you to keep your organal bonnet catch.
Re: My Phase 1 ITB Daily Runner
So when is this Porsche getting it's new engine put in?
Fred must have finished it by now, he's been building it for at least 6months ;)
Yeah understeer like that is never a nice feeling. But i'm sure you must have had your fair share of scrary moments at the Ring with the number of laps you must have done!
The car looks great in Matt Vinal, I love the Nurburgring soooooo much :) such a great place.
I think i saw a video the other day of your car going pretty wide at Brunnchen, iirc it looked like a brown pant moment.
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
The rocker cover gets fooking boiling when the engine is running so just bake it on by running the engine.
That crinkle paint does look nice, it'll make a big difference to the engine bay.
You'd be better of just saucing the backing plate and filter yourself, sod waiting months for an air filter when the one your running is so rubbish.
Reverie can cut the holes in one of their backing plates and dan from 519 automotive can get you the correct air filter you need within a few days.
We do have an OMEX temp sensor and did place it in the ITB's but I think the hole was too big or small. As it has the same connector for the loom we thought we could see how we get on with it or leave the standard sensor in it's place and fit the OMEX sensor somewhere else.
The car is being...
No front lights
No reverse light
No numberplate light
Huge sun strip
No hazards
No speedo
On warning lights
Front splitter is illegal I think
It's things like that which I could fix and add to the car but I just don't want to. So getting it through a MOT would be somewhat a challenge!
Also...
Well I may rent a trailer to get it out and about.
I want to just test drive the car on some open land before I book my first trackday. But it will be soonish.
Tax - £240
MOT - Yeah i dont think so!
Insurance - £1000
I'd like to have it on the road, but its just too illegal the way it is.
I'm just going to pull it around on a trailor and if i bin it at a trackday or the car has a mechanical failure then i can get it home and fix it.
I'd like to...
I've got an update coming soon as the car is now finished.
So now the car is finished here is its current spec :)
