@James172C
Appreciate the kind words mate. I tried to add a little comedy to make it a little easier to read, rather than pounding through essays which would bore me writing them never mind other people reading them 😂
Still a long way to go with the Cup but its starting to have a...
@Darren61 Yeah I've tried a few different types of cars and always find myself back in a Clio. I feel there's too much to go wrong nowadays with newer cars and fixing them is nowhere near as easy as the nuts and bolts of a Clio. Having to use computers to rewind pistons on Audi brake calipers is...
Next up, a few photos of the roll cage which was fitted yesterday. This is a full cage from Safety Devices (R022).
I had a friend weld in some box sections with nuts welded in place underneath so the cage can be removed quite easily when it comes to painting the interior.
I'm unsure...
A little bit of an update, I've now managed to build my work bench and tyre rack, to get an idea on size I'm 6ft 7" tall.
I'm quite proud of what I've built as this is my first time working with wood. I applied the same logic used in my day job of machining, 'Measure twice, cut once' and...
Hi matey,
Depending what has caused the ABS light to trigger will determine the brake bias.
It will either be standard bias with no ABS or 50/50 bias with no ABS.
Be careful trying to figure out which is which 😂🙈
Good luck,
Steve
Any way of testing the inner before removing everything? I need to do my outers and don't want to strip everything down to find out I need to do the inners too but also could do without buying them to find out mine are ok
I may be wrong but I'm assuming that's just did. To new fluid ... ?
Surely a diff would work the fluid/pump even harder due to higher cornering speeds?
Hi,
Currently on with my latest Clio build and unsure on what to go for. My last turbo build I went EPAS but I wasn't overly keen on the steering feel when on track.
Now, the HPAS obviously offers more steering feel but isn't without it's negatives ... the dreaded leaks, pump going bang and...
Yeah they only fit one way mate as they have a king spline. When it's fitted the top marker is at 7oclock though rather than 12 so guessing the tracking has been moved a lot to suit a knock off boss or something.
I've moved the wheel (left the boss in the same position) and the closest I can...
Hi,
Recently fitted a Momo boss to my 182 (with cruise control). The Sabelt wheel is currently at around 11oclock when driving in a straight line so obviously something isn't right.
I know the Momo boss has an indication to show where the "Top" of the boss should be located, and this is closer...
Ah yeah fair one haha, I'm in nightshift mood so don't judge 😂
Sweet. Looks like that's going to be my plan of attack then lol
Looked on PMS website and I think there was a few different types of 438s ... I may be wrong ... ?
My belts are due so I've been looking at 438/421 catcams (track car) with the view longer term to go throttle bodies as well once funds allow.
Would these be a good alternative or better off going with the Catcams. Money isn't the issue, I just want the best I can get rather than just making do...
The Clio has took a back seat over the last week or so whilst I've been giving the garage a new lease of life.
This is the size if the task I had ahead of me, I wasn't really sure where was best to start to be fair:
I decided to try and get rid of as much junk as I could with a visit to the...
Nah I've never tried the older ones. I've read similar reviews as you have to be fair but not enough consistent/reliable reviews to make me cough up the money for the older design.
I've ran the R888r on a few of my cars now mind, one of those being the 340bhp turbo, LSD diff, AST coilovers etc...
I have these all available on eBay with a 0.99p start and no reserve. Grab yourself a bargain!

Turns out I do have a couple of pictures of the brakes being done, they are in desperate need of a spruce up so this is now in the pipeline:
My issue with the rear disc spacers can be seen above. New ones were ordered and fitted.
As mentioned earlier, the car sat in the garage for a while whilst I waited on delivery on a handful of parts:
The parts that have arrived is as follows:
AST 5100 coilovers from @Stu.
Oil catch tank
PMS solid engine mount kit (dogbone, upper gearbox and upper engine)
1.2 manifold heatshield...
Hi, I'm Steve, as you can probably tell by my username. Just wanted to clear that up as I regularly get called Kyle and it's quite annoying 😂
A little bit about me:
I'm 24
CNC horizontal miller
Massive love for all things car related
For the last 6 years since passing my test I've...
How much did you get them for in the group buy? It's going to sicken me when I see the difference in price haha.
Ooo ooo I could be interested in those! I will keep my eyes peeled for the group buy
