I'm knackered after reading that!
If Fred can't diagnose it in person, then I doubt CS can do it from that description - though many will try anyway
Only you can answer your underlying question, which is whether the look of these coilies worth the hassle you seem to be getting...
Fuzzy - from what I understand of the Pro Kit, the springs are a progressive design so are more compliant at low speed and firm up at high speed. I have read several other threads now and the general feedback is that ride comfort is little different to standard at slow speed. Also, they don't...
I'm confused. As you can tell, I know nothing about suspension setups......
Every link I can find for Eibach Pros gives me the Pro-Kit which has a 30mm drop....??
Am I missing something? (Probably...)
A chunk of a front (I think) spring dropped off this morning as I set off for work. Haven't had time to check it out yet. Car is a 172 on standard suspension.
I want to replace the springs with better quality than OEM if possible without spending silly money, but don't want to go down the...
I'm going to disagree and wager that most of the enthusiasm above would wear off as quickly as the novelty of seeing a 182 in a 'different' colour. ie After about a week of ownership. At best it looks like some kind of dishwater blue, at worst, grey.
I don't doubt that the effect shows up...
I've had this again since the cold/snow and have seen this advice before.
Haven't had time to dismantle mine yet - is it one particular connection? is it obvious which is the problem? or is it just a case of cleaning and spraying everything in sight?
I don't know the full story - think it's 'clonking' and they think something 'has broken inside the sealed unit'. Started after minor scrape where a car pulled out of a side road and scraped all down the side of the Clio, including wheels & tyres, so logic says it is accident-related but...
Cheers. In which case, with a couple or 3 hours of labour (it's a Ford delearship, approved repairer) + VAT you can see see how they are getting to north of £700!
A friend has just been quoted £730 to have her steering rack replaced - insurance company dispute over whether it is accident damaged related or not - are they taking the pi$$ or is it really a big job?
How much for parts / how many hrs labour?
Anyone in the trade able to confirm/deny...
OK so I've had the airbox out and the TDC sensor out - does this look dirty? It's the original one (black connections)
Also battery seems to be OK: 12.6V at rest, even though it is also the original from 2003!
OK, so further research suggests it could be a TDC sensor issue, failing battery or key/immobiliser problem.....
Do any of these things just occur intermittantly?
2003 172
Just recently my 172 has occasionally needed a second turn of the key to start, after turning over but not catching the first time. It has always started immediately on the first turn and still does 90% of the time.
This morning it started immediately and I drove half a mile to drop...
