Gents I am in some need of where the piston rings sit in relation to each other on the piston itself.
I have searched everywhere for a diagram but can't seem to find one. Anyone able to point me in the right direction.
As always many thanks
My next plan was to grind back the subframe and insert the m8 rivnut bolts ready for the PMS sump guard. Few coats of zinc primer followed by a few coats of black and clear lacquer.
Next up I decided to remove the boot as it was a bit scratched. I then in my wisdow smashed the glass and will replace it with a polycarbonate window. Again sanded down, few coats of primer and a few coats of black.
Next up was to sorted the horrid and battered Ozf1 wheels. I proceeded with sanding them back, 3 coats of primer, 3 coats of fluorescent green, 3 coats of lacquer
1st things 1st I de rusted the front calipers gdinded them back and sprayed them red. I then proceeded to replace the seals and pistons. Looking good in red.
Having done that pretty easily and with both engine and shell in a decent state I decent to source the follow g parts for the build.
New bottom end gasket set
New head gasket set
De coke and inspect pistons
Thoroughly clean block and repaint
Clean sump
New standard valves
Keyway crank...
Having worked away for quite a few months, I thought about selling up and moving into something different. That coupled with moving to a new house, didn't help things.
However I have been secretly buying parts over these last 11 months to comnence the new build
Hello pal. Firstly I would get everything stripped fully cleaned and measured using micrometer. Measure the crank are in tolerances also. Could get the block honed and pressure tested.
Bearing wise that will depend upon your measurements, pure motorsport, engine dynamics, ktec, renault parts...
Done ARP blots mate forgot to mention that. But with the valves you aren't gonna get much from that surely? Maybe a bit of reliability which I'll look into further. Was thinking of some cams??
Gents debating what route to go down.
I want to keep the engine standard ish but thinking of the following options. Just need some advice as to if its worth it or not.
Currently I have replaced
Main bearings
Big end bearings
Full gasket set
Sump
Water pump
Heads been ported
But now...
Gents good morning, I am after some advice regarding the main end cap bolts to hold the crank into place. I am refreshing the bottom end and was told they need to be replaced as they can stretch ever so slightly over time. So in my wisdom I threw the old ones away and now cannot seem to find any...
Be interested to see how you wite your kill switches in mate? Do you just run a positive from main battery to a 60amp mega fuse, then onto kill switch.
Cranks been measured pal with micrometer. Plus all journals. Engine only did 33k but got it measured to double check. And ill use plastigauge before reassembling
