No issues with the lights under my ownership mate. Did you get it sorted??
I was going through a load of old photos on my Google Photos the other day and came across some of this car. That colour is such a good colour to photograph.
How's the car treating you now mate?
I've had a 182, which I had after a MK5 GTI, and sold, then bought a Mk5 GTI Edition 30, now in a clio 200.
MK5 GTI - Brilliant car, Not the best at any one thing, but as a package and an all rounder, hard to beat honestly. easily tuneable if thats your thing, nice place to be when driving, and...
Just randomly popped on here as I have just bought a Clio 200 (cant seem to get away from Clios, no matter how hard I try, 5th one now!).
Thought I would have a look through some of my old threads. Nice to see the old girl getting the love she deserves.
Glad she is still putting a smile on...
This is epically good. This is screaming out for a heart transplant, turbo lump from an 200sx maybe?
I’m now going to have a look on eBay and see what there is out there, got my birthday coming up soon and it would be a shame to ask for mundane s**t when I could have cash monies and a new toy...
The E46 M3 can be had for around £6-8k nowadays, and that’s with decent mileage too! Yes they might be over the infamous 100k that everyone wants to be under, but an average of 10-12k a year it’s still good mileage!
M135i are pushing £12k still surely!
Unless of course you want a newer M3...
Also check for recent cambelt renewal, and then the usual wear and tear.
The cam follower is a £30-40 part from VW/Awesome GTI and is easy to change.
The seats are all the same shape, leather or tartan cloth, I think all leathers are heated, but not all cloth seats are, my last GTi had heated...
Rust on front arches, rust on rear arches, lacquer peal on bonnet from stone chips.
Mechanically needs to have proof of cam follower recently, it’s a simple quick job to swap it out anyway. If the turbo whistles and it has no induction kit, it could be a split diaphragm in the diverter valve...
It’s a weird one in mine, it seems to show better MPG on cruise at 80-85 than at 70-75! So I’m not sure how accurate it is!

The pricing on MK5s at the minute is madness, standard GTIs range from £2k to sometimes £6k+ and that’s not even for an ED30! some of these are asking £12k!!! Madness.
If your near Derbyshire, DSC are a well regarded seller of R32s and ED30s. Some of them are a bit too rich but mine was...
Yeah man, they are cracking alrounders. Not amazing at any one thing, but great at everything!
How’s the RB? Treating you well I hope.

So, after selling my RB182, hating my new job, getting my old job back with a nice pay rise included. I decided that I wanted another nice car. I owned a nice MK5 GTI before the 182 and missed the all-round-ness of the GTI.
I had a shortlist of cars that I fancied, MK5 R32, MK1 TT V6, Impreza...
The RS didn’t have working aircon and it was 25°+ so no way did I want to be in that, and the Clio just gets hot due to the engine anyway, so I was the most comfortable by a mile [emoji23] especially getting to Wales!

There is some on the O/S/F arch, something that was part of the negotiations, it’s not come through the paint yet, but is bubbling.
As most GTIs, there are plenty of stone chips on the front of the car, but this was at the lower end of the Edition 30 market, average mileage, full history...
So it’s been about 3 months since selling the 182.
I miss it, but only on the right road, I made the right choice for me I think, I ended up using the wife’s car for a while and public transport when I was in desperate need!
I managed to get my old job back, with a nice pay rise to go with...
Yep. Car mapped by RS Tuning. I also noticed it doing this, but also just assumed it was something all 182s did. I test drove a couple before this one and they all seemed to do it!
Sorry can’t help with that one.

Still here. Late night at work yet again.
Will be following this with interest. You never know, @Landyman may decide he doesn’t want it and I’ll be in a position to run it as a 2nd car!
Miss it already. Is a great car, proper little go kart.
Oh, and I won’t be buying a chugger, it will be a...
I’m having the box looked at today, have a decent quote from a garage to fit a reconned one should I decide to do that. So we shall see.

This is what I changed. It’s located on the drivers side under the scuttle panel. In plug the big plug from it and it’s 2 6mm bolts holding it down.
I got it for £8.50 from James Mitchell (JMRS). Seems to have worked a treat.

Thanks for all the comments guys. I’m still undecided on what to do. I’ll defo be fitting another box, wouldn’t feel right selling without it, the car deserves better. And if I sell, so does the new owner.
I know that a lot of you don’t have a problem commuting in a 182, and I will give it a...
Mileage 97912
Thanks @STEVE.M , that guide was spot on.
Just finished my gearbox oil change before heading off to a family do for the weekend.
Pretty straight forward. Had to remove the induction kit to make my life easier.
The good news is the oil was just oil, no foreign objects in it...
