There are some really bored people knocking about clearly.
I'm in Headingly mate so it is student central, although i'm on a relatively quiet street, well off any main roads, where its all semi's with large gardens so its 50/50 between students and regular families.
Yeh i see the funny side of it now of course, it looked like my car had been sick.
Just not the way i want to get woken up at 8 in the morning when i have work in a couple of hours "Tom your car's been trashed", and then have to spend the next half hour trying to get all the crap off it when...
I'm gonna be a tramp/wildlife mobile magnet for some weeks i think.
No pics unfortunately - wanted to get it all off as quick as i could before it baked on any more.
Got woken up this morning at 8 by my housemates to tell me my car had been trashed.
Had a look out the window and it was covered in all sorts of s**t right over the roof, down the side of the car and all over the bonnet.
Dragged myself out of bed and had a closer look outside to see that...
this is cocking fantastic.
Think i saw the start of this on c16v then managed to forget about it.
Just read through the lot and i'm massively impressed with all the fabrication. I just wouldnt know where to start with everything!
Haha, i've tried everything and i cant get it to dissapear!
I'm really impressed with the coilovers, aside from the rear damper bushes deciding they wanted no part of the setup a few weeks back.
Should have listened to the few others it had happened to and got some washers on but it was no...
Not brilliant quality, taken from my pants cam phone, it wouldnt let me turn the flash off either!
30-60
60-90
Hoping for decat to arrive at some point but not sure if thats ever going to materialze (see the group buy thread)
Cheers
Tom
I'm off on a europe road trip in the ph1 this july with my housemate down to the italian lakes.
Going to be taking in the san bernardino pass as part of it, really cant wait!
Yeh i've got to stree aside from the whole rear damper making a bid for freedom issue i've been nothing but impressed with them on the whole.
Come June i'm taking the car on an epic road trip down to the italian lakes so 3500+km's will really give them a good test
they are saying its an isolated batch that came out, unfortunately our group buy ended up with them. As they say, they have been using that design for the past several years with no worries so it looks like its bad luck rather than poor design.
not sure on that one. Possibly.
I've still not had chance to swap mine back or fit washers due to massive amounts of uni work but think i'll switch to standard dampers just because i dont know how long it will take for them to send out the new replacements.
The email i got back after letting them know my rear damper had failed:
Hi Mr Musgrove,
It appears that a small batch of the rear dampers have this fault where the bushes pop out at the base of the damper. This does only happen on some of the kits, however the really strange thing is...
I noticed the biggest improvement with the RS tuner, really did transform the car noticably.
Have Matched inlets too but didnt feel as much gains with those.
Heard really good things about them but personal experience is not so good.
My mate had one on his escort, it cracked in a number of places more than once, he was constantly getting it re-welded.
Still, they made an error when ordering and never charged him so he didnt complain.
Built a new system for the family a couple of weeks back. Only my 2nd build but went largely without a hitch apart from what turned out to be bad memory.
Havent had time to OC it yet due to being up at uniand some big deadlines round the corner.
AMD Phenom X4 9950 Black Edition Quad core...
Really like these even though i know i shouldnt.
looks like a minter. Congratulations!
My mate imported a eg6 SIR-II from Japan a few months back. Lovely car.
