If you go up to 100mm or even the mighty 125! at B&Q there are two types, one sort come in plasic and metal and is usually fitted to a tumble dryer and is poorly enforced, The other is about £4.50 a metre and comes in semi flexible tough metal, very good stuff, suited to a bay with a bit of...
Use Hammerite like everyone says, but i used the spray, much quicker and less messy. I just masked everything not to be painted up and did 4 coats, the first 1-2 will soak in to the metal, so its not like itll be flaking off. Also use brake cleaner on the calipers first and wire brush them.
It depends what you want to use the car for i reckon. The 16v is better for cruising whereas the GTT is just mental acceleration, but feels quite tinny and lacking in the interior department. The 16v is expensive to tune, and a well looked after GTT engine is no worse and most jobs are...
i used a drill attachment to do holes next to each other in a 105mm diameter circle around the existing hole, then used a metal saw attachment (attachment was metal) to join the dots as it were. Then i used a grinder bit to finish off the edge. You should be able to do this without removing the...
The plastic aint the problem, theres metal too, and not easy to cut whatsoever. I used a dremel, best thing for it. There is a big difference when you can get a big pipe in there, really starts breathing nicely especially on hotter days.
where they up close while you went through the camera? I assume its a rear plate one? if so you could be in luck, they could be blocking the view about all theyre good for.
i did the fog light mod, but put a fibreglass scoop in, there is a restriction though from the old feed location, max feed width is about 55/60mm, i just widned this up so you can fit 100mm pipework in there. It does make a difference especially in this hot weather.
also make sure you have the right tool for job, halfords do a variety of oil filter removal tools. The best type for the 16v is a metal strap wrench they do, it has a screw on the bottom to tighten it, because its slim and has a decent length handle it works well in the limited space.
if you want effective cooling with water, you need to cool the water down, so you want a charge cooler but thats gonna cost a few £100 and is pointless on a N/A car, if you want a cooler inlet temp just buy a Viper/BMC, expensive but they work.
Other than spraying it before 1/4 mile, i wouldnt bother. Probably an easier option, buy a CDA/Viper, should help keep inlet temps down (well Im hoping so) What are you using Nick? I havent had much response from the RTOC boys about using a carbon induction kit on a turbo lump, makes a lot of...
