Quite tempted by these now I've seen the prices (not ST220s, just the TDCIs), want something reliable that will munch up the miles so I can travel to more racing circuits in the summer months, not fussed by engine size, economy is key. Likely to be anything worthwhile around £2-3k without...
Bought it in Bruges just before Christmas, it's an Alessi Egg Cup.
Basically just played around with all the sliders in Elements, boosted the green quite a bit, added noise. I don't really know what I'm doing to be honest.
Pills pic is superb, my favourite from your 365 so far although most have been excellent/creative. Fancying swapping it back for my D90?!
Day 15, tried some processing techniques, quite pleased with it...
I've got a Western Digital MyBook as well, the fact that SmugMug back the pics up as well as displaying them all nicely for me is just a bonus (and should my house burn down or something, there is at least still a copy of everything somewhere).
Ideally would like to put them on DVD and put a...
I've no idea how much these things cost, but a benefit of my SmugMug account is that all the pics are also stored on Amazon Vault, unlimited storage, bandwith etc. $40 a year and you obviously get a nice site to display your pics as well.
Fantastic, #2 is waaaay beyond anything I can do, but doesn't quite look right imo (lighting, scale...I don't really know to be honest), #3 is perfect though, amazing stuff.
In "My Photos" I've got...
Airshows
Cars
Holidays
Macro
Motorsport
etc etc etc
then depending on the folder it has more folders inside, Motorsport being the biggy...
Motorsport has 2006, 2007, 2008 in it, then inside those it has folders for each Circuit, then in each Circuit...
Just made it B&W, although looking back I prefer the original 'orange' version. Stood outside in the pitch black with my 120-300 2.8, thought I would give it a try, had no idea how it would come out.
Been sick this week so it's been my first real struggle to get pics, didn't get out of bed on Monday!
Still managed it though, this is yesterdays, bit different...
Ironically isn't the R26R supposed to be nicer to drive on the road? The lighter weight meant they could use much softer spring rates without introducing body roll.
In Manual Mode (M) scroll past 30 and you should get a "B" or "bulb", the shutter will then open until you press it again to close it (best done with the ML-L3 remote to stop camera movement)
I'm currently in awe of...

Tried it many times but never perfected it quite like that, awesome.
I got the Understanding Exposure book from the library, it terrified me! Made me appreciate that as far as technicalities goes, I know pretty much nothing about photography. Didn't enjoy it myself, each to their own I guess but I prefer learning the camera etc through excessive practical...
Other half went to Bath shopping today, asked if I wanted to go, I thought about it, then had an idea "yep, I will have a lift please, I'm not going to any shops though"
Pretty productive days photography despite rubbish weather. I've taken more photos in the past 11 days than I did in the...
I think you're mad!
Why? That would be my main question, seems a bit pointless. I kept my first body for 2 years, and to be honest I could have kept it for another 2 quite happily. Unless you are upgrading to lens that you would never need to upgrade again (i.e. all 2.8 or faster glass) I...
Warehouse Express have raised all of their Nikon prices now, so expect the rest to follow.
It's really not pretty, some fairly nasty price hikes.
D90 back up to £640 body only (what I paid several months ago, it dropped well into the £500s recently), Nikon D3 up by about £300, 400 2.8 up by...
Like the card one, very nice.
Took advantage of the interesting weather the past two days...
009:
And an area I really want to learn about, Landscape Photography. Bit rubbish but will hopefully improve over the year.
010:
Changed a bit too!
- Nikon D90
- Nikon 10.5mm 2.8 Fisheye
- Sigma 20mm 1.8 EX
- Nikon 50mm 1.8
- Sigma 50-150 2.8 EX
- Sigma 120-300 2.8 EX
All fast glass now, so I've finally got out of the constant upgrade cycle. Just a Macro Lens to go and I feel like I'm done, Nikon 60mm 2.8 Micro...
