How about the 1Ds Mk3, gone up by nearly £2k!
Most expensive stuff is hard to get hold of at the moment (such as long fast Nikon primes), I assume stock has been distributed at a low level for a month or two so retailers can't stockpile and absorb the increases for a while.
Mentioned this a while back, but it's now about to happen...
http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/news/Canon_and_Nikon_hike_prices_as_pound_plummets_news_274636.html
So Nikon prices up from Jan 12th, Canon about now, and Sony to follow.
Not sure what that really means though, D90s, for...
Revels you're on fire mate, maybe it is that camera ;)
Day 7...inspired by the selective colour thread, and the fact that I've finally collected the 50p to complete my set...
Straight from camera, but I have the in-camera colour settings on "Vivid" at the moment, which is giving me a nice balance as I'm useless at boosting colours in Photoshop after (it's not so good in the Summer, grass comes out waaaay too green imo, but quite nice for this time of year). It was...
I was sat in the back operating the camera, other half was driving :) I didn't have the camera level for that first shot but it came out the sharpest of the bunch, so that one made it in to the 365.
Yup, as it happens a D90 fits perfectly in the gap between the metal supports under a 2008 Ford Focus headrest :)
Got to be a better way by securing a tripod or something, but as I only had 2 minutes to set it up it worked pretty well.
I'm not keen on some of those horribly butt-licking "rate my picture" groups that people use to boost their view/comment ratio, but I think sticking them in the groups for lens / camera / location / whatever is really useful. I've spent many an hour loading up a group and just clicking...
There are generally 3 or 4 metering options, one of them is usually called 'Spot' and another generally has "Centre" in the title, the other could be anything, Matrix, Multi or something.
It's basically so you can choose how the camera looks at the scene in front of you in terms of how...
As above really, nothing wrong with these at all, and you seem to be doing the right thing (practising!) which is the best advice anyone can give.
Exposure seems particularly good with the first two for those type of scenes, is that Matrix Metering (not sure what Sony call it)?
The second kit has the VR lens (Vibration Reduction), personally I would save my money and get the cheaper kit, VR is amazing but I don't know what real benefit it has at such short focal lengths.
Our first snow in about a decade got me out of a hole today. It's delayed my "clamp my lens to my headrest and try a long exposure driving shot" for another day, all good :)
Grabbed this in the garden just before I left for work. A bit abstract, but I like it...
Nice shots, I love Bourton, such a random place. Spotted a residents Vee parked up when I last went (about 2 years ago)
Cotswold Wildlife Park is also really nice up that way.
Gorgeous location / colours / everything.
If it's safe it might be worth going down at dusk/nightfall and 'panting' the boats with a torch during a long exposure.
For beginners I would say most of those are non-issues, Nikon know this and it's why they cut costs with those features, for the market they are aiming at they are for the most part not a big deal and certainly won't be debilitating to the average user. Whilst the D80 kit is silly cheap at the...
Nice work, would have been nice to see more background, but at least yours really puts emphasis on the '4'.
I'm trying to write a list of things to shoot during the week, realised that I will be at work during the only daylight hours for quite some time now, so need to come up with some...
It would be out of date in about 2 months :)
The standard reply should be...
"you won't see any difference between any of the entry level DSLRs, so just go to Jessops or you friendly local independent camera store and handle them all, as they handle quite differently and can suit...
Top pics and car, makes a strangely nice change to see a standard Cup.
Very impressive pics actually, the light makes it look slightly unreal, but in a good way. Worth the £1.40 imo!
Gorgeous shots, love them. 3, 4 and 5 all get my vote.
I went abseiling there last year, were these taken from up in the park area? Took this shot, but it seems much lower than yours and the left tower was obscured for me, just trying to figure out where you were as I quite fancy a trip down...
Not going to put mine on Flickr as I don't want to clutter that up too much (unless it's a pretty decent shot), so mine are going here...

Certainly seems to be getting busier all the time, and loads of people seem to be getting DSLRs as presents etc these days.
Reminds me, must sort out of the Photo of the Year thing, hopefully tomorrow.
It's worked already, had a CT Scan at the Hospital today and just as I was leaving I thought '365' and grabbed my camera.
Would never normally have taken the camera, so this is a bonus, and I guess the whole idea behind trying to do a 365...
Walking in to town to do some shopping tomorrow...
