Clio 172 Servicing costs

Am getting my 53 plate 172 serviced tomorrow, just wondering how much u guys/gals reckon it'll be.
I am supplying my own oil

at my local renault garage my 24k service cost me £200 all in. I suppose it depends on how many miles you've done !!

p.s. in a later thread u state that you have done 20k... why are u getting it done early???


i paid £60 at 12K,, £90 at 24K and £120 at 36K... cheap as chips.. all official as well!!

I Just paid £138 for 12k service, they used thier own lubricants, yet still though price was resonable.

some places dont change what they should 12 and 24 k should be oil and filter change, (supply your own if poss) air filter and cabin filter change.

I've heard its the 36k service that you need to watch out for as the auxhillary belt needs to be changed. My local dealership reckoned it'd cost the wrong side of £300 for it.

is it a bumper off job the aux belt? if not is the cam belt a bumper off job or not?

I honestly don't know, I should imagine not as they reckon it costs £100 more than a usual service to get the aux belt done, and I've heard Renault charge a frikkin' fortune for any work which requires the bumper to be taken off. Then again, the belt can't really cost a lot of money....i'm confused now. Anyone got any experience with this?

Also, has anyone had any experience getting their car serviced at a "Nationwide Autocentre". My mate phoned them up for a major (36k) service on his cup, and they quoted £180. Also, if you go on their site you can get 10% off.

aux belt will be much easier than cam belt I would have thought.

Correct normal 24k service on a Clio 172/182 is approximately £250, add around £100 for the aux belt change Its not a bumper off job to do.

And yes, its much easier than a cam-belt change!

My 12k/2 year service cost me £194 at Renault but only cause I told them to leave the air filter alone.

I didnt get a quote cos i never have done in the past.
Why get a quote before u know what needs doing???
Am getting it done early cos i only recently bought it and want it to run perfectly!
As it is wasn't running great.
Anyhow had it done now, cost me £156
Running like a dream now!

Money well spent then, a lot cheaper than my 12K £220 inc pollen filter.

Renault dealers in Notts & Leics know how to charge.........

can you really tell a difference with new oil, and 2 new filters?

Yeah can tell the difference cos i got 5w 40 fully synthetic oil now!!!!!
Before my car was running well ropey!
Aint had it long but had a few probs so now its like a new car!
Got a new 4 inch scorpion fitted today, full system
So very happy

i get mine changed with the same oil every 6K elf 5w40 so cant tell much difference. Must be better though
