Got My Best 182 MPG Today, Well Chuffed!

went on a secret mission to carlisle today (about 250mile round trip) and got the best mpg ive seen out of my 182

38 MPG !!!!!!!!!!

was well chuffed, i lost site of the 30MPG mark in january when i fitted the viper but the constant speed of 85 let my mpg creep up to a record (for me) 38

................................ it did however start to drop rapidly when i left the motorway near my crib for a bit of A and B road bashing :race:

dunno if thats good or not, i have seen 43mpg on journey to coventry in my birds dads 182, that was with 4 in as well, but he used cruise control all the way.


whats a good average for these cars?

im getting 32 out of my 1.4 and im hoping a 172 wouldnt be much worse!!

My girlfriend once got 43mpg, my average is around 33mpg though.

Good stuff agent 2! it must have been all those enemy road blocks that got your mpg down :clown:

I average around 32mpg drivng to work and back - roughly 35mile round trip. This is using 97RON too. Can't wait to try Tesco 99 now they have it in Coventry!!!!

Lowest I've got is 27mpg, only when I've pushed it a lot down country roads on the way to work. It's gotta be done though!

31.8 at the mo (Lots of short trips to trai station and shops) creeps up to 32.1 on the motorway trip to my parents (115 miles round trip). average is over about 1500 miles.

Had my 172 cup from new and rarely averaged below 33, and thats with a lot of around town drivng and thrashing it at every opportunity when able, considerably better than the 20mpg i'm getting out of my newly purchased 2004 impreza, but then it does push 300bhp anf 60 in around 4.5 secs, but the clio still more than excites, what a fantastic car.

i'm getting around 37-38 driving to & from work.. thats using super unleaded from sainsburys... put tesco 99ron in it the other week & it went down to 32-33mpg!!!

Press the button on the end of the indicator stalk, until your trip comuter get round to MPG, then hit that black button / stick thing on yout speedometer to reset it...

I average around 35 mpg...

Yesterday i got my best ever MPG, ironically its because i took my dad to pick up his Porsche boxster s and on the way there my exhaust started blowing and got worse and worse. So over a 120 mile journey i got an MPG of 45.6. Drove normally on the way there, but driving sensibly, and on the way home was boing 55-60mph on the M1 with the lorries, and it crept upto a lovely 46.0 in the end!

Theres a lot to be said for driving at 55-60mph, but its the first time i've ever been overtaken by a lorry on the motorway, let alone 1/2 dozen.

172 MK2 PH2 No mods, barring an air filter.

I get at the worst! 40.6 on the motorway. Don't let the car dip below 1/4 tank or the fuel MPG will disappear.

on the motorway i can get 40mpg with my 172 cup, an thats got an open cone filter... but normaly get around the 32mpg mark.. but if i get foot happy it can be a lot lower

when we picked up my 172 on the motorway it said it was doing 51mpg but it clocked over 60miles as soon as it did 1 gallon
