RS2K MK5's are getting a bit thin on the ground now, most have rusted away, glad we saved her even if circumstances were not good.
Other than Kent cams and loads of noise - it's more or less standard, and certainly goes well despite the 125k+ and long...
Thought I would share a recent set from Ragley Hall Classic Show May 2015 - our restored MK5 RS2000 third outing.
The old girl got a nice surprize 'best in class' (>1980's Saloons), I fell over with glee.
After a long search - I ended up sourcing some at a breakers, I think the problem is that they are supplied part of a front end 'repair' kit from Renault, so you have to buy the whole kit to replace them.
It's not unusual.
I think if you somewhat delay locking with remote after you have switched off the ignition and shut the door, it won't beep, mine has always done two beeps, unless locking with remote is delayed by about 1 minute, never timed it exactly though - but try it.
It's as though it's...
Did it stop working suddenly? I would check again for the fuses and there is also a relay which are always suspect, it may be in the main fuse box on n/s engine compartment.
Not sure about it, but the Clio II manual suggest that it's F34 (20A) for the motor, there is also F6 (10A) which is fuse...
If it's gone through you'll need to cut out bad and weld, but it looks like just surface rust, just clean it back to bare metal and use some etch primer or zinc primer.
You could even just wire brush it to remove and flaky stuff and use some rust converter - I use Loctite rust preventer 7503 -...
I would drop that original idea, it's expensive and probably find you will be paying import duties when it arrives from the States too.
Most(all?) generic OBD2 readers will only diagnose engine related problems on the Clio.
Pulled out behind me on 'rabbit run' near Ludstone about 8AM, you (eventually) caught up my shopping trolley by Royal Oak then turned for Wolverhampton.
Car looked very purposeful though, first blue one seen around.
I use 87W on front and 83V on rear, the fronts carry more weight and have to work harder, thus the 87W having slightly stiffer sidewalls, I think its a good combination.
I seem to remember that this was the plan with the original Exalto.
I never use the car in anger, but it sticks like glue at...
Purchased and fitted one a month ago, about that price and has been OK so far.
I think 'cos of the price differential it's worth the risk, even if temporary.
I used this seller...
Celebrating the old girl passing the MOT, so a bit of an update on what has been happening since the last update.
Well 2014 was a bit hectic and a serious drain on resources, the addition of a new garage extension and some considerable mess during the summer months, and together with getting...
There are two different speed ratings on PS3s, I think you will see they have 83V and 87W rating, you should be quite safe on the 83V (149MPH IIRC)
I use 87W on front and 83V on rear, the 87W have slightly stiffer sidewalls and are good for more MPH.
I think the 'ZR' is and older type of rating...
You'd never settle that with discussion, if it is such an itch, get down to Santa Pod and put them against a stop watch and nobody can argue.
IMHO does it really matter in the real world?
Yes, could be a cable loose, but batteries do not like cold weather, and coupled with greater wintertime headlight use, need to be in tip-top condition, so first establish the condition of your battery.
Most Tyre places and back-street garages will have a battery checker and usually will check...
Hi Woody
I think you need diagnostics to get at the fault codes which will have been recorded.
You can get cheap OBD2 reader to do this yourself , there may be a member with a OBD2 reader near to you who could help you out? or as last resort get to a Renault dealer (who'll charge you £40-£50).
I...
