In my case, I got photocopies of ALL of the actual V5 (registration documents) with all the details they contain, e.g. names addresses, dates etc, plus transfer/change of owner notifications, etc. In fact everything that had passed through the DVLA since the car was first registered.
I can also recommend using V888, did this on my 1992 RS2K Escort and got an absolute wad of paperwork (10 owners), and some interesting things came to light from its early history, well worth the trouble & fiver especially on older cars.
Thanks for all the advice guys.
Thought I would round up this thread in case anyone else happens upon it in the future.
I decided to go with the Eibach Pros in the end, both from the advice and price, I got a full set from Germany £120 delivered, just had to wait about a week for them.
I also...
Thanks for the rapid responses
I did read up a bit beforehand on the prolines, was worried that they could be more firmer than the originals, which I already find a bit hard (consider that I am old fart and can do without too much spine jarring)
Hey guys, what's the best alternative to standard OEM cup pack springs, I have had three OEM front spring failures over five years and have done only a few thousand miles, -and that's with careful driving too.
Considering the expense of Renault items, I'm a bit miffed to say the least,
I want...
I'd consider the heater resistor/power pack (under the scuttle) probably gone short circuit and blowing the fuse (but enough resistance there not to blow the 40A). Using a 40A fuse will destroy your wiring, not recommended.
As above, I think there should be a plastic sheet between the card and inner door, and it's the plastic that is normally sealed to the door frame, take door card off and wait for rain (shouldn't be a long wait!), shouldn't be much water getting in there at all unless you have the window down..
Presume it's a Clio II
Shelf but you may find cheaper:

Mats - these fit and look nice but shop around - you may find them a bit...
And they arrived next day (from Wolv. Renault), last pair of aftermarket ones disintegrated after a short time, so will interesting to see if the OEM hangers will last a bit longer.

I did read that ten year old post before I asked here, there is nothing in that post that gives me any confidence that the number mentioned is correct!
Anyone got the Renault part number for the rear exhaust hangers (182)
(I know there are cheaper options but will probably use the OEM this time)
Thanks
If you lift up the console a bit it should come out - there is a bit at the front that may need cutting by the heater, you do need to take the seats out or at least unfasten them.
Here's mine drying out, it took three days in full summer sun.
"I have found the rubber tube that comes out in the middle of the bulk-head,"
I think this can become unseated, so worth checking that it is firmly in place in the middle scuttle drain hole, you will need the wipers off and scuttle plastics off to check.
You really need to get the carpets and...
When troubleshooting problems with washer pumps, it is important to understand how the pump system works...
There are two pumps, one for the front and rear screen jets, and the other pump for the h/l jets, each pump has two outlets, with motor turning, water is pumped only from one outlet at a...
You have my sympathy trying to dry it in this weather!
It took me 3 hot sunny summer days to completely dry out the foam when removed from the car.
It's a one piece that fits both side IIRC, I'm pretty sure it will be expensive if available.
Hi guys
I have seen posts asking for an original looking insert for the 182, and I also know that the smooth silver insert and gear knob from Renault is really expensive (£70?) and insert and knob are only available together, but here's an inexpensive alternative (£7).
I bought two of these a...
Just to clarify lads....
It's defo a 182, first registered in Feb 2004 on a 53 plate - I think most people/dealers waited till March and the 04 pate, but original owner intended to put it on his own personal plate and so for many years, but since our ownership have both reverted to original 53...
Try DVLA with form V888, and if you can show good reason to have it, they will provide you with all previous and current registered keepers, I got a big wad of info back for an older car, in fact all documentation that goes through the DVLA.
It costs £5.00
Thanks Mark for remembering this, and appreciate the comments from you guys.
The Clio is still in good health but has have very little work over the spring/summer, like last year, I have been busy with the other car, and that one has had the bulk of the resources as the Clio is pretty well...

Will be at Seighford (nr Stafford) tomorrow (16 Aug.), will take the RS 2000 and trying to persuade the missus to bring the Clio.

Hey Daniel
It is possible to get the build number for these from RSOC.
VPH is build #398, one of the early ones from 1991 although not registered until a year later, you probably know - but Ford struggled to sell them, so think building this style stopped in 1992 and they re-did the styling -...
