Photographed two and I would have to say Ultra Red, particuarly with darker wheels. Close second would be Nimbus, only ever seen one on the road and one at a dealership but it looked absolutely stunning...probably be a rarer colour in a few years as well.
These are the closest colour...
Second hand is the new devil! I've built up a nice little range of links to second-hand stock, and even though I may not consider something at full price, when it's £100-£500 cheaper it looks quite justifiable all of a sudden!
I guess it's the sense of thinking that if you don't get it now...
I found it hard enough to find some wildlife fall stop inbetween life/work and stuff (only daylight hours I see at the moment are at weekends!), let alone finding some situation to show how it might be effected by modern industry.
The original idea/concept was to keep it simple so everybody could take part and get a shot relatively easily within a week, and something that was 'do-able' for the average person (i.e. something around or near home) on any given day.
Obviously however it's not up to me what the next topic...
Here goes again, a tough one but we ended up with some interesting/creative entries. Vote will only be open until tomorrow evening so we can get a challenge started ready for the long Easter break (so if you are in the running, think of a new challenge now)
A couple of members failed to...
Sigma 50mm 1.4 could be a massive hit if it's priced right. If I was in the market for a D40/60 I would hunt down a body only and get this bundled with it instead.
All done on this one then, I failed miserably!
I will get a poll up for this in the morning before work so we can get a new comp started ready for Easter weekend.
Stunning car, best replica I've seen, certainly puts all those V6 reps to shame!
Only downside for me is the sunroof, but then there isn't an easy way around that.
Looking good, I had my Cup exactly like that for most of its life (although no leather!), love the extra sound you get.
I added a luggage net though (intentionally not fitted correctly, as obviously the latches were removed when taking the rear seats out), made life much easier as it still...
Ah the 'secret place'! It's through a fence somewhere near the Dunlop bridge iirc, only possible on dark/damp/overcast days, any hint of sunshine and shots from there just don't work.
Where was the Astra pic taken?
Forgot to say I love the start-line pics as well, perk of being pit-crew?! If you ever had time you could probably get a press-pass on a race-day as well, as long as they don't get too many requests I'm pretty certain they give them to drivers designated...
Good day? Wanted to come along to experience marshalling for a day but couldn't make it. Heard Chrissy had an off, hope all is ok.
Great pics, in particular the Astra pic is awesome, 2 wheels off the ground?!
Ah it's not just me then! I still get service reminders and flyers from them despite informing them I don't own a Renault anymore.
I never even used Westover thinking about it, it was still Olympian.
Elements for sure, there really isn't a great deal you can't do in it, I've certainly never been limited by it, although I only do fairly basic adjustments most of the time.
It would still be a heck of a lot cheaper to go to Rentech or Carlton if you live down this way, we aren't exactly limited by choice.
Westover wanted to charge me for a Air-Con service when I had my Cup and took it in there ;)
Track-days would be interesting though, always wondered why...
Good read this, as much as I love Evo, it's kind of irrelevant for 99% of us. If they stick to their plan of mainly covering affordable cars it should be good.
Loving the photography as well, seems much more raw (in a good way) than Evo etc, which imo overuses Photoshop quite obviously.
Pre 1973 , so the worst polluting cars aren't effected and I can safely say your Vee will never make it to that, regardless of how old it is :)
Tis a joke really, if they ring-fenced this money so it only goes on 'green' stuff and improving our roads (public transport, alternative fuels, road...
Sigma aren't known for great quality control, I would get it sent back tbh, shouldn't be like that. iirc the manual focus ring wasn't amazing but was certainly perfectly useable on my 70-300.
As mentioned in another thread (somewhere) there will be quite a few more on the way, probably another 50-100 pics over the next couple of days. Most turned out well this time, usually only get 1 in 10 really decent shots.
The difference is massive, I've only used my 300+1.4 once (at Castle Combe) but the extra length was really noticeable. I would say the difference feels much bigger than 200 - 300 (I know it is, but it feels much bigger!)
Get the Sigma 70-200 and add a 1.4x in future if needs be (the Sigma ones are cheap compared to the Nikon ones)
You will be able to use it for far more than sports, they are great for portraits, animals etc.
