Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
I've barely scratched the surface mate! Took around 600 and most were good enough to 'publish', I will probably add alot more in the next few days.
Re: My Ph1 172 track sl*g Progress Thread
Just caught up on this thread after spending some time in this beast on Sunday, really loving it. Quite badly want a Ph1 172 now! As I said I couldn't understand the passenger footrest from the pics, but when you get in it all makes sense.
Pics of it...
Great pics, not long till the new season now thank god!
I think you're aware that the angle of most of your shots has gone for photographers now, in the long run I think it's for the best, was always seriously exposed there.
Is this a new shape Clio? If it is I imagine the extra weight dents the fun some what, try the same engine in the new Twingo (TCE GT), it's an absolute hoot. I want one badly, under 1000kg, 0-60 in under 10secs and it got much better mpg than 35 (closer to 50).
Sure it doesn't come close to...
Great vid (and can't wait to see the new 'face-cam from the Airfield Mark), at the end of the day everyone has to start somewhere, and there is nowhere safer than on a trackday.
So what if he is/was a 'crap' driver, to be fair that's probably why he is there learning the limits of his car...
Epic data transfer! I get stats for my site, in the past 12 hours that particular gallery has had 20,000 hits, 900MB of picture downloads and over 10,000 unique image views (including over 100 downloaded at original size). Good job my account is unlimited :)
Most popular is also my favourite...
I figured these deserved their own thread, as it doesn't really fit with the Clio stuff in the other Media section. Both looked stunning, couldn't quite believe how good the RS Turbo was, both in terms of its condition and how quick it was.
Superb, not loving the HDR stuff (the images stand up brilliantly without the need for serious photoshop work) but the composition/light etc is fantastic.
Pretty shocking, I agree with the point that this is a Clio, not some high-end weekend only sports car. At the end of the day plenty of 'normal' car owners with a few quid are going to buy these to get the best version money can buy. If by getting in and out without touching the bolster is...
I was always a bit apprehensive of long primes (although your shots last season were fantastic) due to the not being able to zoom thing, but I agree, it's great having to work that little bit harder, saying that I did have to stand about 100ft back in the fields for a few of the angles!
I...
Cheers mate, got myself a Nikon 300mm f4 second-hand on the -very- cheap for Christmas and it's just awesome, bit worried actually as it's even sharper than my 80-200 2.8...which doesn't make sense as the 80-200 is supposed to be much better, maybe I got a dud!
Had to shoot 'frozen' as all...
Looking back through the Ph1 seems to be the track-weapon of choice now.
Funny how things move on, was only 18 months ago that Williams and Valvers out-numbered most other stuff, this time we didn't have a single one. They seem to be increasing in value now and the Ph1 seems to have hit its...
Probably, although I haven't had a dry one since getting some decent equipment, would be nice to get some wheel-cocking shots and all the other madness that goes with a dry grippy surface.
Another great day at the airfield, despite the weather (some extremely harsh hail stones, several times) everything went pretty well. Big thanks to Steve (Impreza) for a hugely fast and impressive lap, I was a bit speechless after!
I 'took one for the team' and stayed out there for the most...
That makes sense, I was speaking to you then!
They look DSLR quality easily. Used to have an FZ10 and FZ20 myself stunning cameras. Can't remember them being quite that good for motorsport though, it must be the operator :)
Great pics, need to raise my game! Colours are stunning, really vivid, what camera/lens were you using?
You need to edit the thread so you have a line between each set of image tages, at the moment this thread is about 192ft wide!
Cheeky gits...
Sorry, but this promotion is only available to people who have purchased a brand new pro account after 1st August 2007. You're still welcome to make your very own 100 pack of MiniCards though!
Great shot, really like it. I agree it's a tough one, finding wildlife is hard enough, let alone relating it to modern industry!
I will get there though.
Loved my 50mm so much I felt it was worth the risk getting a bigger prime (300mm f4) and I love that as well. Could never understand it before, but now I have one I couldn't be without it.
So much more fun being limited in terms of range, really makes you think about the photo you are taking.
