It isn't perfect, was taken on a flexible bridge for 8 seconds (no tripod) so it could never be perfect. Still, looks awesome on a big canvas in our hallway.
HK is just the identifier for Portsmouth, so although most Renault press cars end up with that plate (or HS etc), I guess there are plenty that are 'normal' as well.
I had a go in a Twingo GT on Saturday and I loved it, interior seemed incredibly small but as the other half is getting the sensible car (new Focus) I am very very tempted once I know what's happening with my job in two months, the rear seats would probably come straight out and go under the bed...
Not on a D3, the high-ISO performance on that thing is insane...

The ISO 1600 shot almost looks better than a standard ISO 200 shot from my D50.
Apologies for the delay (again), my PC blew up (literally) so I've had to wait on parts to do a rebuild, I'm back now ;)
The winner of our last challenge, big_peaches has chosen a new subject for round 3 of the Photography Challenge...
Capture the effects of modern industry on wildlife...
Great set, really liking some of these.
Loving the ones at this sort of angle and your brave choice of shutter speed has certainly paid off...
Although it would have been slightly better if you could have crouched down (if possible) to get a lower angle.
I also like this one...
Yep it was meant to be for photos taken within the comp dates, but I think I forgot to mention that in the splurge at the start of round 2. Will make sure it's stipulated next time.
Are D200s really getting very cheap? They were always in fairly short supply anyway, I've been waiting and waiting for a cheap one to come up and haven't seen anything, so I'm thinking more of the D80 for my upcoming Birthday as there is no glass I want.
I would go with the D50 option myself...
Apologies for the excessive delay, been unusually busy of late and didn't get a chance to sort this. Hopefully I've picked out the right pics below, a few were a little difficult to know so I've done the best I can.
Not sure if a mod can add a poll, if not reply to this thread with the number...
9:08 and 12:31, that's what I did! Next one (16:19) was far too long to wait so I headed home.
I agree D (Wareham) was poorly signposted, I knew where it was at it's on my usual route to Swanage, but I followed the signs anyhow and they just vanished after a while!
I was close to the...
pmsl, that's me :)
This is the pic I got at that very moment, I guess that's you chopped off at the top of the frame...
And yep, sure, add any other pics to this thread.
Have we met before?! I did notice a Trophy was parked 2 cars down from me in the car park when I left, thought I recognised the plate.
I did Shannon 1 (Car Park A, 09:08) and Grid Law (Car Park D, 12:31) today.
My second rally (and first taking proper pics) today after last attending the Sunseeker in 2006. Fantastic day, weather was spot on and it's always amusing driving between stages surrounded by rally cars on the road.
A few pics anyhow, as always I've tried to do something a little different...
The Otter shot is fantastic. In fact all the ones taken outside (i.e. not through fences/glass) are really nice.
I also love the last Coati shot, really nice composition.
Which stages are you going to?
As it's £20 for the Forest Car Parks AND £20 for Somerley Park I decided to just do the Forest stages...
Shannon 1 09.08
Grid Law 12:31
Plumley Wood 16.19
Somerley Park is much easier (and it doesn't mean driving all over Dorset chasing Rally Cars!)...
I'm back! Finally got it all up and running again after decorating. I should get this all sorted this evening, won't be too late as I'm heading to Rallye Sunseeker at 7am tomorrow
It was properly seriously quick, passing standard Elise's like they were in reverse. Not as quick as Mark Funnels yellow Exige though, that's the quickest road car I've ever seen at Combe (he drives it to and from the circuit)
pmsl Mark.
As an aside about £2500 was raised for charity today, in no small part to that Clio which took passengers out all day despite the off. Was taking 3 or 4 laps to get any warmth into the tyres apparently.
It's all about the light, you simply don't get these sorts of conditions during the actual motorsport season. Any sun during April - September is just too harsh.
It was a private booking, local racer books the circuit each year and gives all the proceeds to charity. £130 iirc for unlimited laps.
