Small update
Blue dci pinged the eml up a few times recently. Scanned with clip and egr fault logged
With CO.0 stored and it was also chucking up 1.Def and 2.Def, i assumed the solenoid had s**t itself and performance was a bit flat. Id had issues with this egr before so treated it to a new...
Just bought a set of sgs car dollys to shuffle my Extra van about in the garage so i can get the blue meg back in. Tested on the clio and they work great, was not expecting it to be as easy as it is. Quick shove with the foot and its moving. Good for the money!
I have a 3mtr usb cable plugged into my ecumaster ecu in the engine bay all the time running through the bulkhead, when its not in use i have it coiled up in the glovebox. It wont be an issue.
Id check power at the connector, will give you an idea whats going on. If its dead and the wiring checks out ok and stalk is good, itll be uch. Its an easy repair though the fella on ebay called diesel repair specialist does a good job and cheap.
Lets start filling in some more blanks.
April - November 2021.
Not a lot happened in this period to be fair! Wiring was needed and i was still putting it off. Was also doing a load of work to the Kangoo.
November/December 2021.
Promised the mrs that id get it fired up before the new year...
Mine is the same as this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203644550631?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=-qp50xu9q3g&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=sQrVQpEdQKi&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Done the trophy battery wiring no bother. Bit of dual wall heatshrink over the top to finish. Tested a...
I think it will be safe at 8.3:1 without being mega flat off boost. Scoff did say to me to consider dynamic comp ratio with the 172 cams, thats one thing ive never looked at though, so would need to do some reading up about that.
Cheers mate.
Ive been thinking the same regarding comp, i think 8.3:1 will be low enough to get a decent amount of boost/ign in and help with knock resistance on pump fuel. Might cap it at 350hp for reliability this time. Will see.
Forgot to add pics of the fully cleaned up cam cover. The aquablaster wanted all the powdercoat off, i reckon ive spent 8 hours of pain doing it. Best look nice!
Modified breather hole in 250 breather plate. Drilled out to 10mm, didnt measure before but it was around 6-7mm iirc.
Cheers mate, i hope its plain sailing after this engine build and i can get it used a bit.
I can remember reading about the e46 m3's head gaskets going gradually causing a right mess if left.
Small update
Bottom end buttoned up, oil pump cover, oil splash plate and sump refitted. Sump had a mega clean.
Block had a quick clean up and repaint.
Ive painfully removed the flaking powdercoat off the 197 cam cover. I sprayed gasket remover all over it to soften it up and a combo of acetone...
If its been in for main dealer service id check whats been done as above have seen some services do not include plugs, or could be incorrectly gapped or just duff.
Id get diagnostics on it and have a look at live data. Itll have logged the misfire as from memory our old 250 cup had misfires...
Misfire isnt usually cured by a good flog out, if anything be careful with turbo cars as a misfire might be hurting it on boost.
Prob a plug or coil on its way. Id guess its still on original plugs at that mileage.
Ceramic coat. Ive had a couple of sets done with gtechniq crystal serum ultra. Trophy is running ds1.11 pads and the wheels have been pitted and they seem to clean up easy enough. Ultimately you still get the fallout off the agressive pads that needs a good fallout remover to shift though.
Valeo, beru, gates, to name a few that supply oem ren parts. Different suppliers for every model, i guess it depended who tendered for the contract to make the part.
Stick a gates belt kit on the Kangoo, or oem, both cheap as chips. Water pump last couple ive used have been cheap brands, seem...
Updates
Blue dci went through its mot ok. Mot tester said its clean underneath for a 19 year old car.
Its been getting loads of use recently covering 750 miles in the last 5 days or so. You know the miles are racking up when your filling it twice or three times a month. Work has picked up a...
