thats wot i thought. Theres 2 rubber mounts at the back box, but apparently there was one missing from the mid section somewhere (although i cant see where it is)
mine rattles when i go round a corner, well it more of knocks but i got used to it :-)
I think its just the exhaust mounts, chances are they have cracked and stretched. One of mine had totally come off
Av a big sh*t b4 u get in each day :)
Only eva fill it up 1/4 of a tank each time.
Or just leave it in a supermarket car park overnight and watch the interior disappear
if it is a wide shallow dent it will probably just pull out with some sort of sucker.
Other than that ull need somone like dent devils who will drill a tiny hole and use a "special?" tool to push the dent out from the inside.
HTH
nice one, thanks every1!
Really cant wait for a few more months to pass :D
Are they all factory fitted immobolisers? any alarms? and what about airbag?
Thanks
Hey all
At the moment im really thinking about a valver for my next car instead of a 106gti (mainly due to lower insurance quotes and about 2k cheaper for the car).
Anyway, im trying to find the main differences between a phase 1 rt and a phase 2 valver (96 plate im after).
This is what...
I tried that with mine
"Its just a washable air filter so i dont have to change it every service".
It will still be an extra £60 they replied, bollox!!
That was for a Piperx replament filter.
i dont think they really bother about it too much.
E.g. last year my mileage was 10k on my insurance, however i had two cars (6 months each) and did about 6 or 7k in each. Also, unless ur MOT is at the same time as ur insurance they cant get a reliable mileage to check it against
Id say if u can afford it definitely get your own.
Me and my mate are the same age (19) and passed our test within a week of each other. Hes been driving his Dads car for a year and ive got 1 years NCD. I pay 725 TPFT on my 1.4 clio, whereas hes now looking for his own car and cheapest quote...
happy with mine even though its like 11 years old!
build quality is ok. It rattles a bit but thats why we have a radio ;)
Might go for a valver at the end of the year - still undecided on that one
Try getting some industrial stength wipes - ur local garage might let u have one for nout.
I had spray paint on my front window and nothing would shift it (even a little dab of white spirit). My Uncle works for Wurth and he gave me one of their industrial wipes, it came of straight away -...
Just wondering how good the cold air feed is on the mk1 rt? Ive had a look and it comes from the passenger side wheel arch, although i cant seem to find anywhere that the air actually goes in from?
yeh i reckon either damp, dirt or dodgy connection. I did push on each terminal and it started after that.
Gonna have a good look and clean up 2mo but just making sure it isnt anything else.
Hey
I came out of work tonight, use the remote central locking (works fine), get in the car (interior light on as normal), shut the door and put the keys in the ignition. Turn the key and wait for the fuel pump to power up (immobiliser), dash lights come on, go to start and nothing. All the...
The befenits would probably a very very very slight increase in acceleration (smaller diameter and a fraction lighter).
As for drawbacks, a much bumpier ride!!!!
I thought K-Tec kevlar were just EBC black pads? (same people that make greenstuff???)
Anyway i got a set of K-tec pads (EBC black) and theyre great, very low dust as well.
actually, just had a look at the picture of your car and its not in the normal place.

Mine was to the left of the heater panel. Think it might just be a pull out one but best check ur haynes.
no worries, the only tricky bit is the heater panel. Its quite hard to get out, the easiest way is to push it back, twist it at an angle and pull it out that way.
