First off, generalised and sweeping statements like that cause havoc and urban legends on forums.
The RON rating we get at the pump is the research octane number and is conducted at a significantly lower rpm than MON (motor octane number) which is about 50% higher in rpm and 60% higher...
you dont have to take off the cambelt cover.
The aux belt system is all accesable down the front of the engine, have a poke round.
I dont think the cambelt/tensioner/idler are the issue so you should leave those areas alone.
I can only really take stabs in the dark here as a 3 second...
aux system mounts, alt, engine mounts, exhaust compensator springs, coilpack, rear engine lift eye.........so much to check, even the front slam panel could make a similar noise if loose at one end.
I think some people will be disappointed when the bonnet is popped and they realise it looks like stock bar a pipe running to the TB lol.
I didnt design the charger kit to be on show and blingtastic, if the charge pipe wasnt there, i bet 90% of people wouldnt notice the charger lol.
that tends to make a chuffing noise and would be apparent at all rpm.
due to it being limited to a certain rpm band i can only think its harmonics of something slightly loose.....not wobbly bobbly loose.
In the states they use a RON/MON average so its not comparable......we get flaked off by the marketing man who uses the highest number.
And i personally wouldnt waste a penny on super for daily use, i always ran 95.
I was aiming for 220bhp on a low output setup and 250bhp on a high output version.....however, those figures got completely blown out of the water once Paul started mapping lol.
Pricing is not yet finalised as I am going to change the bracket material and one of the idler pulleys to an...
That looks like a 13mm that holds on the lower manifold.
Does the stock TB work fine?
If so then its your new 'ported' one. If they did a poor job then they could have damaged the clearance between the throttle plate and the bore, and no matter if the throttle closed fully, it'll still pass...
Hopefully with sympathetic driving and the linear output of a supercharger, the gearbox should last. Turbos kill as their torque curve comes on like a hammer blow.
So long as people dont run about doing standing drag starts, shift like monkeys, jump on and off the throttle at 6000rpm.
So if runs are taken days apart then the true mbar value isnt represented in the datalog, assuming baro conditions are say 30 mbar different between the days? Only the rescaled mbar readings are given?
Does this RSTuner thing read true mbar or scale it to read a max mbar value?
Otherwise the readings between days will differ with the peak atmospheric mbar pressure the time the datalog was taken.
I dont see how people can try compare peak manifold pressures when someone at sealevel could...
The CTR kits are apalling, we are in the middle of re-doing a kit for another company. The other kits would flex when put under load, bolts would snap, square edges would seat on radiused noses etc....apalling stuff. Not to mention the inlet manifolds, IC's and other crap they made.
The...
