wow..what amazing fun, living in cumbria theres an airfield at kirkbride so i went one night with a mate in his silver 172 cup and also a highly tuned 106 gti, for some reason the silver cup just couldnt keep with me which was odd...its done 24k against my 9k and i had my girlfriend in the car...
superb i did the same a month ago..mines a 2004 with 7600 miles and i paid £9400 and its simply the most awesome fun, heres a tip, drive it fast and hard everywhere they love it!
oh..and...enjoy roundabouts!
i drove a 255 the other night and its about so much more than speed with the V6, it makes you feel special driving it. as soon as i turn 22 im trading my cup in for a mk1 i think i prefer the softer front end and the fact that its the original not the..."oh f**k we got the handling wrong lets...
i think people compare it to scoobys etc cause of the power figures and the price when new...but like you say..totally different, i find my cup makes me drive it at 10/10ths all the time..in the V6 i was happily sitting at 60 and then into the 30s lapping up the attention, all the time...
lad i know got it on saturday and he handed me the keys last night to my surprise! well..what can i say..what a total feel good car they are!! didnt feel any faster than my 172 cup but more of a lazy constant power delivery and the noise..awesome awesome awesome!
all these people that say buy...
excellent..ill continue to meet mr shift light on a regular basis then woohoo...glad about that cause they are just sooo damn fun! they really put a huuuge grin on your face!
i daresay it still has 2 years of warranty left :) oh also...does anyone know when the last 172 cups were registered..mine is a february 04..182s were out by then!
by thrash i mean...up to gear light in most gears, on limit through corners etc, just wondering cause i am becoming increasing addicted to the vvt and the way the damn thing handles so good every time i drive it.
but ive always felt afterwards as if ive been hard on the car?! is this...
that looks awesome on that red one..yeah the front looks crap without it!! does anyone sell a replica cup rear spoiler in carbon? i think my turinis might have to be coated anthracite to match now hehe
no...cause the car is under my dads name too...we thought if it was getting insured in his name..then it would look better to be registered in his name..and i just paid for the finance/insurance to him!
righty..heres the situ (life story people) hehe
ive just turned 20, and drive a 172 cup under my dads insurance (me as main driver) which works out at £1200.15p and out of curiousity ive tried a quote with elephant (company as im with on the cup) for a mk1 v6..
now when i first tried...
i bought the car from an independant dealer 3 weeks ago and didnt know they were meant to have one...so do you think i can blag one on renault warranty?! they might turn around and say ive caught it and broke it off etc?!
my 172 cup didnt come with the plastic front splitter when i bought it...just noticed k-tec do a carbon one is it a proper copy of the original renault part?
and does anyone actually have one?
i always park across to spaces too..really pisses me off when people just open doors straight onto yours..its like for f**ks sake care a little!!
keep onto them...they will eventually pay up!
arrgh ive had my 172 cup for all of 12 days..and im feeling the strong urge to get some coilovers and light tints and do the turinis in anthracite...
heeellpp meee.. also..does anyone have any pics of theirs lowered the smallest amount..say 25mm?! dont want my dad to realise..he would...
err...i used to own a saxo..ive had a 172 cup for 10 days now
well..mine certainly sh*ts alot better when it goes down the last wee bit...cruise should disengage as soon as you touch the pedal not when you floor it!
do you all know that last little but of accelerator travel..where it clunks down a tiny bit further..well i thought my car had stopped doing it but the mat got in the road of mine so it wasnt there and wow..the car was much slower! so once id worked out that the mat was in the way i moved it...
by any chance was the V6 blue with a private plate? its the only one i can think of round this way, if so its the boss from arnold clark renault in dumfries and its his own car not company owned..he has 3 renault alpines too
not technically from dumfries..about 15 miles away near gretna
im from dumfriesshire, the car was registered at arnold clark in glasgow february 04 and i bought it last week from a dealer in wigan, yorkshire..lol..so now its back halfway in the middle
