yep, i have to say the hillpower + magnex combo is superb sounding, quiet at cruising speed but as throaty as hell when your pushing it, long tunnels are insane!! :):)
i got it off a mate whos selling his 172, so i got it and a cat back magnex for £300, im sure he said it was circa £250 though best to give them a ring it may be cheaper
i have hillpower on my cup and i love it! it really does sound superb!
viper probably fractionally better for power but you get so little gains with any filter on the 172/182 thats its not going to be noticable really!
heres a pic of mine...
loony, the sidewalls on the 35's are tiny so i hope they wont rub too much, what i would hate is to lower my car and not be able to drive it at 10/10ths over bumps, dips, crests without worrying about rubbing..i think i'll lower it down onto the turinis' 1st of all..
meggerman, i have also wondered how you gauge the height on coilies..
i was almost ready to order..but im going for the FK now, theres a group buy and if 5 names are there they willm only be £425 deleivered!! now thats cheap!
right i think im gonna get H&R's i was going for FK's but everyone says spend the wee bit more for them!
so what i would like to know is all information i need, cheapest place for getting them, whats the deal with camber and stuff, does anyone have them wound right down, i have 17" leggeras...
found this website which has a calculator telling you rolling radius of different wheels and tyre combo's..if i buy 215/35/17 tyres my 17" superleggeras will be overall 1.26mm bigger than my current 16" turini's
1.26mm, thats about a pin head!!!
if i go for the normal 205/40/17...it works...
i looked at a VTS after my VTR, and i thought it was appalingly slow, it was one of the phantom "130bhp" W plate ones too.., the cup just left me jaw slackened in comparison, even my dad drove the VTS and compared it to my mums 1.6 dynamique+
ive raced my mate with his 106GTi (proven 173bhp @...
mine gets alot of b-roads..80-90ish on motorways and occasional town driving, mine goes from between 26 and 33mpg usually...long motorway journey maybe about 38+mpg, i have a 172 cup
gone is the knocking and banging, they spaced the manifold away from the subframe and its back to normal!!
now i remember why i fell in love on that test drive!!! :D:D:D:D
very happy person now, just need to sort out the ghey squint magnex!! :(
...theres been a massive reduction in V6 topics!!
in the last month or so before it changed, the old forum was v6 this v6 that...now its 182/172 everything lol!
reaaally nice that!!
would these 215/35/17 tyres be any good on 7x17" wheels? obviously you wouldnt get the stretched look but the sidewall would be tiny!!
ive got 17" 'leggera's waiting to go on my cup but im hesittant to put them on till i buy coilovers as i dont want the 4x4 effect..as for slowing me down, im getting the even smaller 195/40/17 tyres not 205/40 and i feel its a good style/go compromise!
ok..so going back again with my cup about this attrocious banging noise when accelerating hard, i rang my dealer to book it in, and there service department was busy so they asked for a contact number to ring me back "shortly"
well..i left my mobile number..that was 5 and a half hours ago...
gaz...shorten it when it meets the cat? its fairly flush length with the bumper as it is..i dont want it sitting under/inwards..can i not just get it straightened some other way?
meggerman, im having exactly the same problem, when my car had its 12k service, i told them about it and they replaced the downpipe on warranty, this improved it slightly but not in 1st gear where it bangs like a ***** in wet or dry.
as for all the people that say dont put your foot down...
just spotted this topic and my cup has exactly the same problem, mine does it wet or dry, in 1st its terrbile..and in 2nd over 5k revs it bangs like mad too..this is very..very..very annoying..really puts me off my car, renault claim its my downpipe banging the chassis..but if the whole engine...
Just got hillpower filter and cat back magnex at the moment...whats all this GDI inlet about? how much are they or do you have to get your std one modified? also..what kind of gains would i be talking about (over standard) with : Magnex, De-cat, Hillpower filter, GDI inlet and a dastek piggyback...
