Missus keeps seeing this one, numberplate along the lines of "TIM P", its a "car like mine" so I imagine its a 172 Cup. Anyone here? Usually between Melksham and Trowbridge I think.
Out of interest (talking about spec), does anyone have a 5 seater Cup? I only have two legal seats in the rear but apparently some have a 3rd seatbelt as they had to put one in. Bit odd I thought as I have one of the last 200 made in December 2003.
52? I assumed it was Sept 2003 based on the warranty. Warranty should have ran out last September then, unless they are extending it for you.
In that case, knock about £500 off those prices I mentioned above.
No it doesn't have ABS. I would check the Aircon as well, possible but unlikely.
Based on those details its supposed to be £9200 from a dealer, or £8000 private. Mine is 3 months newer but has 4k extra on it and I've had no interest at £7800, so I would suggest £8k is possibly too high.
Several magazines got the Cup up to 60 in 6.5 seconds, including Evo I believe. Official from the original brochure I have in front of me is 6.9 to 62mph.
In the real world the ST would be quicker imo, several around these parts and I followed one yesterday, 30 in a 60 behind another car, car turned off and the ST was just gone before I'd even thought about it. I'm guessing the extra torque etc means foot to the floor in any gear sends it on its...
I did this a few times towards the end of the month in my past! By all means have some fun on the open roads, but when you get reasonably heavy traffic you may as well do all you can to conserve the car and petrol, as at the end of the day you aren't going to get anywhere quicker by sitting on...
Some were left in March 2004, they built the last 200 in December 2003 (got me one of those!) but it took a little while for them all to be registered.
As long as you're careful there is no need to pay so much extra to buy from a main dealer imo, especially for one thats still under warranty...
Its all about how you drive. For example my commute is a fairly stop-start affair, but I would say I brake/accelerate at least 50% less than most people I seem to follow. Read the situation ahead and ease off when traffic ahead is coming to a stop or slowing. Not only does it save your brakes...
Name change, confusing!
Thanks for the advice, too cold to go back out today (already had lots of bemused comments from passers by, it seems I'm the only one who cleans cars when its 3c outside!), will let you know how I get on though.
How exactly do you use this stuff? I have a few Megs Terry Towels and from the instructions I apply a little bit on the towel and work it in, then remove the excess when dry.
Maybe I'm being dim, but what is a small amount for a single 2inch scratch (pea?), and what technique should you use...
Arctic 182 - White Horse this morning...
Then a Black 182 on the A350 near Trowbridge at midday, then a Racing Blue with stripes near Wiltshire College five minutes later (driven by a "mature" lady)
Don't see any for weeks then 3 come along in 5 minutes!
Isn't that like a big clay/gravel car park? My missus used to go there 2000-2004 and I used to stay a lot as she was in halls.
I don't teach, I'm a 'Management Information Systems Officer', its as dull as it sounds! What you studying?
I'll go out and get some shots in our car park soon, about 1000 spaces I think, 90% owned by 17-20 year olds so there is some seriously crap modded stuff out there.
My Clio barely fits in the student spaces, thankfully we have nice wide staff spaces away from the carnage!
Only work Mon-Fri so weekends are completely free, and the missus is a teacher so she is usually pretty busy, lots of free time!
I get confused too, assumed you were acrebo (number plate kinda gave it away) but then someone called you something completely different at one point! I'm too...
Yeah I do wonder about a few of them, kept an eye on one that looks mint but its been on there for at least a month now. Never seem to get any local though.
The 172 Cup mini-site is still on the Renaultsport server, found it through Yahoo the other day as you need to go in via one of its sub-pages and not through the main link. Its pretty good.
Tucks spotted doing some illicit after-hours testing of a new import dodgem (painted by Freebone, by the looks of things :) )...
The FIA are currently considering the evidence before making a decision on whether to deduct points or impose a one race ban.
2-3 months, I can't catch the bus to work for that long! Thats everything covered for now I think, sounds like you got a good deal, most real tidy examples I've seen have been £2k, and the mileage has been pretty high on them.
They do look nice in the flesh.
I think the thing thats missing that would really finish it off is a front splitter, brings the front down a few inches.
55k?! Nice, you mind me asking how much you paid for it? I've been looking around but the prices (and quality) vary massively. Doesn't seem to be too many knocking about for sale in the South West.
I'm addicted now, like a Z list celeb if anything happens locally I will be there! Had a good time and met loads of people, some of whom I even remember by real name (and some remember mine too, apart from Freebone who decided to call me Rich all day yesterday :) )
Just noticed the weather...
