Wasting £100+ on petrol?! Surely getting to drive the length of the country with like minded charitable people, meeting up at hotels etc and having a great time, earning loads of money for good causes etc is incentive enough?
A trophy or two may be fine, one for the first person if it has to...
I passed a Woolworths today and they were still advertising 360s with free delivery to your door on launch day. I went inside and enquired (not after one myself, just curious) and they said it wasn't a mistake and they would deliver on December 2nd.
Just for info really, may be worth checking...
I don't think there should be prize money as someone suggested, firstly it just isn't right in my opinion, and secondly it would probably open another can or worms i.e. it would officially be competitive if there was a "winner".
I also don't think the sponsor money should go towards costs...
Its for the boot, not exactly a display piece is it!?
Its actually extremely practical (which oddly enough is why I have it), holds loads of stuff securely.
I would be up for this (I would have to start from Lands End though)
Something to think about, stickers! Some large and small Cancer Research UK & ClioSport stickers for bonnets, roofs, windows etc and anything else appropriate! If we are going to do it we have to advertise it!
My light related annoyances in no particular order:
1) Fog lights on, as original post. I've flashed a few and they have no idea why.
2) Fog lights and side lights. This is worse because its clearly to "look cool"
3) Rear fog lights in heavy rain. How stupid can you get?! If they think...
Having a hard time deciding if I should put some flaps on the Cup to save it a bit from the winter harshness, Cliosport general consensus seems to say no, but I will reserve judgement until I see some.
So, pics please (and where you got the/how much)! Any Clio is fine but seeing a 172 Cup...
In the summer I wouldn't argue with this, but considering Sundays are the only chance for me to wash it in the winter it can be 5 or 6 weeks before I get a chance it doesn't always work out that easy.
Not even some super-subtle black ones trimmed and hidden as much as practically possible?!
Had a good pre-winter clean of my Cup on Saturday and noticed that the area behind the front wheels was quite messed up (nothing I couldn't clean and polish out thankfully), is it best to bung some flaps on there for the winter months? Can't say I'm generally a fan of them but anything to...
Conti Sport Contact for me, strange omission from the poll. Had two new fronts put on a few weeks back from Black Circles, last set nearly lasted 14k which I can't grumble at.
Nope, none for me here in Westbury area as well, nearest is Bristol I think. Bit of a crapper considering there isn't even Optimax available for 30 miles in any direction.
Plenty of exotica in these parts but they seem to have to make do with the standard stuff as well, I saw a Ferrari F355...
Indeed, go to Tesco or Asda and get one for a decent price in there. They always get considerable allocations but don't accept pre-orders.
Amazon have done this many many times with pre-orders of various items in the past (including the Star Wars trilogy box set, which if I remember...
I have a 4100, had it several years now I think. Any easy way of telling what speed I'm running at? I signed up for 512k but have had various "we are upgrading you" emails over the years that I've not kept track off (all I know is that I'm still paying what I've always paid)
Seen a few MK3s about locally in the past few weeks (not stickered up or anything) and was then told they were not actually being delivered yet. I must live in a time-warp, last Sunday a new Civic (the prototype looking thing) passed me in my home town (again with no obvious dealer markings)...
You don't see one for ages and then it all goes mad...!
172 Cup driving through Trowbridge yesterday afternoon, flashed me and waved which I happily responded to.
Then a few minutes later a Monaco blue (extremely dirty) 172 parked at Currys, which I then saw again in Tesco car park about...
Don't let this put you off when you look at the next one, the doors will re-lock if you unlock it then leave it for a while...and if you unlock it and open the door immediately the alarm will go off, one of its many quirks!
Also, if you go for a test drive and they tell you its cold, you will...
Anal question but isn't having numbers on the car illegal? No idea where I got that from but I'm sure I heard that once. Admittedly it makes no sense considering most vans etc have phone numbers all over them.
Very unlikely to find one considering they aren't officially available in the UK.
Trophy or 182 sounds perfect for what you need though, town driving etc. If it was mostly motorways it would be 225 all the way, but I'm sure a 182 will satisfy your needs!
I've had it then, fuel cap is telling me to use 98 but I have to drive 30 miles in any direction before I find a Shell garage with Optimax, better get driving! :race:
Are any not on a Cup?!
I just replaced my front two with another couple of Conti Sports (well I actually put them on the back and moved the old backs to the front) and got my tracking sorted whilst I was at it (was waaaay out), a few days pass and we get torrential downpours, loads of...
Way too much for 71k as others have said, get the 72k done by them then aim for £5k. As its fully serviced etc I wouldn't worry too much about the mileage (unless you intend to keep it for like 10 years), I took a standard Clio to 110,000 with not a hint of trouble, if you are going to get a...
