Today my so far faultless 172 Cup (two years old tomorrow) developed a really loud banging noise when accelerating or decelarating at low speeds (30 and under generally), anything above that is fine which I thought was odd, I took it up past 5000rpm and there were no problems at all, only ever...
This has always baffled me, I haven't even finished playing all the games I want to get through on my Mega Drive yet, and I've had that for well over a decade. I'm only just starting to really get into the Dreamcast back catalogue (I had it as my main console for over a year, but only played the...
Got stripes? I pass one every day at about 8:20am, it goes through Westbury out towards Warminster way, I'm going towards Trowbridge.
I was in Melksham last weekend so it could have been me. Although there is another 'XXX CUP' around these parts somewhere that I see occasionally, my family...
If they could have made the 172/182 as good as the Trophy, they would have made it as soon as the first ever Clio came out! I happen to like the fact that Renault are willing to work on a model over time. Its not as though its just cosmetic amendments, they usually work on the bits that matter...
RAID only operates over a certain speed though doesn't it?
Does anyone lock their door as soon as they get in? I never have but this has made me think twice.
Oh and for those that often say a CTR is more of a rarity, there are 17,000 of the things. Thats a few more than all the RenaultSport Clio's since the first 172 I bet.
Designers will tell you that all the safety regulations mean cars will now look very similar. Jaguar said as much when their new car happened to look exactly like any newish Aston Martin you care to mention. The Tiida could well be on the Micra platform, that would explains why it looks a lot...
Hehe, my family wondered what the hell I was doing when I sold my Dynamique (sun roof, air con, auto-lights, reflecting windscreen etc) and bought a Cup (no ABS, ESP, air-con or auto-lights, thin glass, no spare wheel etc!), they didn't quite understand the power increase!
Don't worry what...
Couldn't agree more with this. Was never sure at first but after seeing Rob669s and a few others at meets I'm converted. I bought a Cup back in May but had I had liked MK1s as much as I do now I would have probably saved a few quid and got one of those instead.
Its got Castle Combe, wooo hooo!
Hope its not like the last game where you can only race certain cars at certain tracks though. Otherwise I can't wait, Toca 2 was better than GT4 if you ask me.
Plate was on the car, it came free with it. Not a huge fan of it myself, certainly wouldn't go out of my way to get one but as its there its grown on me.
I've had a few enthusiastic waves from other 'CUP' plated 172 Cups so it doesn't go unnoticed!
Hehe, amusing comments! The interior has to be seen to be believed, seats are quite nice but the dash is early 90s to the extreme.
I think an Integra Type R DC5 may be on the cards actually when the MG finally gives up. Tried to talk her in to getting one of the last unregistered Trophy's but...
Would you rather they released the 172, then never made any revisions to it incase they worried that people may think that they "set it up wrong"???
I for one am extremely pleased that they continue developing the car. People almost universally moaned about the Trophy before it came out...
Hehe, dirty weekend...
Had nothing but trouble with the bloody MG, £1500 of warranty work done on 4000 miles to replace just about everything in the engine bay (just before they folded, thankfully) and then recently the electrics packed up which no one could figure out, then two weeks...
Have fun, I went for a 30 mile blast at midnight last night as it was fairly mild out, soooo much fun. Never has a car just urged me to go out at such stupid times before.
Looks just like the one they had at Platinum Renault in Wiltshire, bloomin gorgeous colour in the flesh. I would say Liquid Yellow is still the louder colour though.
As title really, I want DVD-R, DVD+R, and not fussed after that. Don't want hard drive or anything, just a standard recorder.
Any suggestions? Hard to choose with so much out there.
Cheers, Chris.
Just to confirm, my invoice for my 1.2 Dynamique from Renault said "Renault Clio Sport Dynamique", and, if you dig out an old Clio brochure you will find Dynamiques grouped in the "Sport Collection" section with the 172, 172 Cup and V6!
Think we worked out that about 150-200 had perished in the last 3 and a bit years, just over 2200 were bought and the last reasonably accurate data we got on here (how many were taxed this year) was just over 2000 if I remember correctly.
My boss' partner went into town today to get an LCD TV today, came home with 3 (yes, 3!) XBox 360s! Sold them to his mates at cost, he said they were everywhere.
Yep, they work slightly better than the auto-wipers, which never seem to wipe when its drizzling, and go mad when its pissing down.
Only problem with auto-lights is that if you go to flash your lights at someone it stays on full-beam, very dodgy! For that reason I alays switched them on...
Gamecube is a lost gem almost on a par with the Dreamcast, I had a Panasonic Q for a few years before scaling back to standard Cube, great piece of kit. Oh and near instant load times, going from a Cube to a PS2 is a huge culture shock in that department.
I have to make a stand against the...
