Plenty of racers on here mate, although there are more people building race cars that'll never race but that's another story. Currently race a Clio 182 in the TARC Tricolore Trophy with tony and a few other members on here. Have previously raced in the LMA Euro Saloon championship in a Leon...
Nah not going Combe, never a circuit I've particularly wanted to do + more importantly my Mrs is due that weekend so it might be kind of inconsiderate to be away racing!
Ian has a heart? News to me!

Its nice there are other cars in the series that provide good competition for the clios.
Adam/Martin, it's not as quick as the red one from oulton last year, just a shame I couldn't get by it as I'm pretty sure I'd have been able to get away, roll on Donington!
russ
Cheers Kenny.
Morgan its probably just me that needs more practice with the brakes and not knowing the circuit didn't really help. Gonna try and get a test in at oulton some time before Donington so will give me a better indication of the car as it stands.

Mark, final drive is a 13/59 + the shorter 5th gear too, yeah goes well in a straight line. sonny172cup same to you mate, should be back out at Donningtin all being well. Who was the guy with the RS4 btw, said he might build a car for the series.
Russ
In part mate yes, i find it really hard to 'feel' what gear its in, its not the first time ive had complaints with it, nearly every time ive used the car i've missed a gear.

Videos are all uploaded, dont have any pics though, hopefully some will become available from the circuit photographers soon.
Arrived at a grey Rockingham on Friday afternoon for some much needed testing as the car was only put back together on wednesday/thursday and un tested since last year...
The setup is the 'optimum' now as far as i'm concerned assuming it hasnt slipped but i've messed about with it previously and theres a very small window of adjustment available if you want to be able to select all gears inc reverse.
Russ
Am i the only one that doesn't 'love it' then? Does anyone actually use it for anything other than nipping to the shops? I find it hard to find gears, stiff and miss gears while racing regularly. If there was another solution out there it would be removed in a flash.

Really enjoyable weekend after all the pre-season difficulties, will do a proper report later once both race vids are uploaded. Want to say thanks to Pete @Toastfrenzy for the help in friday testing and nice to meet everyone else i hadnt met before. Hard luck to ian @mitsiman on his issues...
Just uploading my vids and doing report now. Great racing tony, really enjoyed our battles this weekend and appreciate the 'help' in quali! Similar results to tony, 1st in class, 2nd overall in first race, 2nd in class 4th overall in 2nd race.

Great stuff Dave, I had the top hole on my Ast's machined to allow the fitment of standard bolts with as much camber as I'll ever need. See you tomorrow.
Russ
It's back in one piece, had it running etc. just need to run it up to temp tomorrow night and check all fluids etc. Race entry sent off and a place booked for Friday testing.

Just posted on tarc forum tony, My car is still in bits, gearbox issue wasn't straight forward. Fingers crossed my 'box will be back tomorrow and I'll work all night building it back up if I have too. Sent Steve an email about a late/provisional entry incase the car doesn't get done etc so...
