No history at all or record of cambelt, didn't come on original wheels when the current owner bought it, they were all bent so these wheels were fitted. Messaged him on eBay last night, shame really as I'd love a ph1 flamer (turbo!)
Russ
Got the last few jobs done on the car recently. Got the Snappy trimmed wheel on and a nicer Ph1 gearknob so the interior refresh is complete.
Refurbished the headlights, they weren't that bad just a little yellow, they've come up gret anyway and look like new.
Also got the Michelins put...
Really love climbdance and the yellow bird vid, the 2nd lap across adenau bridge is epic, guy has serious talent and cojones.
I'll put forward this vid from the mid 90s BTCC, just search btcc from the 90s some awesome racing on there.

Not much of an update but a bit of a teaser pic of my brakes, caliper bolted up and just fits under all my wheels. Spent a couple of hours with my tame machinist modifying my brackets to get them to fit. Discs should be here this week and I'll be able to get them and my new hubs on the car.

Not a lot going on, just been using it over the winter, they really are great cars these, quick enough, good fun and economical.
I have got my F1's back from being refurbed, will get the Michelin PE2's back on them over the weekend and get them back on the car.
Need to give the car a proper...
Not a massive amount of progress but things are moving on, as they should be, new season is not far away. 2014 licence renewal has been sent and i'm now registered for the French Trophy for next year, got my preferred number 15 back for next season too, depending on how things go + budget might...
Dephaser operation on a 172/182 is only on/off though so i just use the shift light output to operate the solenoid at 1500rpm like the standard setup. Obviously the 197 vvt is a bit more involved though.
Russ
One thing that I've never seen for the French trophy is any mention of a 'championship' Tony, is there going to be a proper points tally etc for next year now its a proper series?

Hell of a lot if money for what started out as a 'Normal' mustang, I know genuine Shelby GT's are worth serious money but a recreation for £150k! I do like it but not that much, could buy allsorts for that kind of money including some nice classic. For example.
used Ferrari 458
slightly over...
I don't see why it couldn't run the dash as the dta will stream the required data via Can but not sure how the standard magnetti marelli dash gets its info. That's been the only problem putting cup cars on different ecus, the dash doesn't work, hence having to buy a new display and that's what...
Its in bits mate, hubs are with James/mark at the machine shop and I'm waiting on some brake bits to arrive. Garage is over run by a new kitchen to be fitted too so is restricting work space somewhat, hopefully get cracked on with it while I'm off over Xmas.
Russ
not my garage no, it's my mates workshop, I did all the electrical work, lights, ramp etc and I can use it whenever. Anybody local that needs work done Mark is the best mechanic I know, couple of guys on here use him already. Pm me if you want his details.
needed to keep the rain off the drive...
Been a busy week, probably done 600miles in the clio which is unheard of as i dont use it for work. Had to pick some bits up yesterday from Durham so took the scenic route over the hills, safe to say there was some snow.
Deserted roads though so had some fun, really enjoy driving a 172 when...
I find its easier to heal and toe successfully when fully committed to the brake pedal, trying to practise at low speeds on the road is a bit of a pain. I have an adjustable pedal as well and it certainly helps but it all depends on where you're brake pedal ends up while braking really. Good...
Got a few of the interior bits sorted out. Door handle trims painted up
and fitted, along with the ph2 handles
More importantly, just got my steering wheel back tonight from Snappy, very impressed with how its come out, black and blue leather with silver/grey stitching. Cant wait to get it...
Forgot I hadn't seen this, such a shame about that 200sx being in the way, you had such a good run out of the first chicane on lap 2 just a pitty Ian was in the way or you'd have been passed into the 2nd chicane I think. Couple of hairy moments too, on the grass sideways at shell oils/island...
Apart from a set of mark/James hub set up, my wish list is, some brakes that work and some tyres that aren't worn out r888's. I'll be midfield at best :p
Russ
Lol at this rate all clios on the grid next year will be the same spec! Keep up the good work Dave, look forward to see what engine spec you go for.
Russ
Yeah there'll be a lot more than that, 32 uk cars maybe? My car went to poland so thats one less in the country, the only thing in them work any money imo is the box and as mentioned its not as good as the euro spec ones anyway. All the electronics are now antique and most people just upgrade...
If that's the case Morgan I should of held on to mine! Last championship winning car in that shape driven by Tom-Onslow-Cole, bought and sold mine for circa £11k a couple of years back, I can't see them going up in money tbh, most are seriously bent and championships they can run in are thin on...
