lol... Atempt 1 with only 1 jack.. did end in my hand being panacked. Note to self...when gearbox starts to fall i can't catch it like a total legend one handed.
Attempt 4... box is on. slackened clutch off again. re-alligned again. gave it one more go with a dap of grease on the end of the shaft and it went in.
Thank you all.
I have seen a pic in another thread which appeared to show the rack left on the car but the headsheild left on the subframe. I am guessing its possible to slid it all backwards to do this?
Thank you for taking the time to reply all.
It's amusing that the bits you expect to be easy turn out to be hard and vice versa.
I will giving another crack with all the variations suggested.
Put a new clutch on the Trophy today. Genuine renault.
Now my thrid attempt to try and get the box back on have failed. I just cant get the last inch.
Using two jacks and an axel stand. used the kit alignment tool to get the clutch straight
Starters not in the way, nor are any hoses...
Utter class. Nice 5 year journey saving that one. Nothing like seeing a new respray on a car simply for the love of it.
I couldn't afford one when I was starting out. It's an itch that might just have to be scratched one day.
Thanks @markfishy, will watch this space.
Agree @dmallett . I believe the current cobra one come with a plate to fit under the seat with a 90angle on the edge with the locking nut to moun the tensioner. With a similar thickness spacer on the other side.
Give the option of both setups for us...
You also have to wonder why he is selling the Sachs not on the car.

Would have thought that a £3540 trophy with Sachs would be more...
I added extra to the underside of the stop. The problem i would say with removal is you will damage them a little bit so they wont sit tight on as they do when new. The silicon could over come that but for a quid. Is it really worth it?
Cage looks epic mate especially with your rear seat delete floor, love the touch of colour too.
would have been interesting if Renault had opted for 16" custom 2118 instead of 16" Turinis. Love the rally car look of those types of wheels. like old quattro (monacos?).
...Shoes need a polish...
Marc, would bet you could post Chris your Ecu and save you a drive to Widnes..
Widnes.. its a bit like Dundee if you get my drift.
I know he flashed Clio Turbo Andy's back to factory after he had his Trophy mishap. Well at least I hope he did as its now sat in my loft.
Like wise Marc, I would give Chris at EFi a shout. I am sure he will give you an instant answer. I don't understand the these things personally. Is there however a difference to trying to tweek the map. Ie mod Henks one. And just simply wiping the whole thing and sticking a clean start on...
@jesus have a look at my trophy thread. Had same problem, turned out to be rubber boot stops.. 57p items.
I actually had a hose lightly pouring down the rain channel past the stop and you could watch it run stright into the boot.
It started in the boot... One good brake and its then in the...
Q..How much snow foam do you need to do a clio?
I appreciate different brands will have a different concentration. But on average with say something like autobrite? Just trying to understand if 1litre last 1/2/3.. Washes.
Cheers
Chris
You will need to do your research then on solutions. Most bucket setups are designed for harnesses and not seatbelt clips with pretensioners. Pre tensioner need a mounting point which don't usually come on base frames. The side frames of the recaros in a trophy for example have the mounting...
