Got the calipers back from the machine shop. They charged me €45,-. 5mm has been machined off from the mounting points.
Brembo HC discs also came in. Still not sure on which pads to buy though.
Will test fit them soon I think.
You were spotted by a friend on the A28 on the day you went to Zandvoort.
Black wheels look good! Adding a bit more colour is definetly needed but not too sure on the red. It's kinda in your face.
Thanks @Greeny.
Actually, I've been having issues with my brakes as you can see here: https://www.cliosport.net/threads/i-keep-boiling-brake-fluid.816376/
Can't really comment on the brake fluid as I've boiled it again. I kind of narrowed this down to a sticky caliper though. RC6 pads are...
Decided to buy some parts. Found some pretty cheap Brembo's for sale so decided to jump on it. It's a nice upgrade imho.
I want to keep using 15" wheels so I went with 280mm Tessa brackets. The calipers are currently at the machine shop to have 5mm machined off from the mounting points.
Also...
But if there would be air in the system this would cause the pedal to be soft all the time and not just after a trackday?
Thanks for the tip about activating the ABS pump. I don't have a clip but this is very useful.
Good point about the caliper maybe sticking. I haven't noticed excessive...
For some reason (I think) I keep boiling my brake fluid. I can't really get my head around it. I've changed brake fluid plenty of times now and tried a few different ones. Latest one was Motul RBF600 but after 4 20 minute sessions on track (Assen) the pedal has gone soft again. There sessions...
Looking at his second pic I think he already installed sport headlights and foglights.
I would do the following:
Clear repeaters
Lowering springs
Nicer wheels
I wouldn't go crazy with it as you probably want to upgrade it in a few years anyway.
I think I still have some clear side repeaters somewhere. Interested? If I can find them... There are also some 172 front seats for sale on Marktplaats atm.
I bought a kit off of ebay (ph1 kit) worked well but supplied hose was way too difficult to deal with. Bass port looks great.
The way the kit works is kind of like the bassport idea. You attach the hose to it using zipties (what else lol). Cut a hole in your arch liner where another "bassport"...
I should change this topic title to Slow Progress because sadly we aren't going to start work this friday. I was completely ready. All the parts are here and I took time off from work but sadly the father of my mate/mechanic I'm doing this with passed away so he closed his shop untill he's ready...
My bad! I always thought the 089 was bolted and the 130 and 129 had this circlip that keeps popping out. I stand corrected. You guys were right!
Edit: How the circlip in my 089 hasn't popped yet is beyond me.
After not driving mine for a while I noticed the noise the ktec exhaust made. Can't even enjoy listening to music as most of the tones just get droned out by the stupid exhaust.
I guess a turbo would quiet it all down though. Groupbuy anyone?
@green It is yeah. Choose the stealth one though. Did you make some kind of deflector plate? I feel like it needs it but obviously haven't tested anything on track yet.
@Danith Parts are available but they only come up for sale every so often, but luckily most of the guys on here are happy to...
Major update! Replaced the inlet temperature sensor. Had some issue where the idle would be very lumpy for about 5 seconds on cold startup. Replace the damn sensor and fixed!
Amazing.
Found some pics from a little while back. One is on the Nürburgring when I took the car for it's first flight...
Sadly these parts for the ph1 are not in stock anywhere anymore. I grabbed the last one for the front left (those that sit in front of the wheel and below the bumper). It was still in the Renault warehouse in France.
Ph2 parts do not fit the ph1, sadly.
Decided to get the car out and install the brake cooling. I talked about this previously. Hopefully it will help, but I still need to make some kind of deflector plate.
Installing the cooling was relatively easy. The horns could be bent out of the way so the left side was done quite quickly. The...
