If anyone is interested, Platinum Renault (Wiltshire and BANES) have had a 54 plate V6 on the forecourt for 8 months, surely its got to find a buyer soon!
Ive used Ultimate (97?) from day one simply because Shells nearest garage is near Castle Combe, which is a good 20 miles away. So although they recommend 98, I would be hard pressed to fill up on 98 when needed as its hardly common in these parts.
I understand some cars must run on Optimax...
Mine is going to be serviced at Renault Bath even though I could walk to work from Renault Trowbridge, weird how the same dealership (they are both Renrod/Platinum Renault) just 15 miles apart can be so different.
I bought my previous Clio from Bath and they were excellent, Ive since had...
If its the Vee I thinking of its in Trowbridge not Bath, and its Acid Yellow (greeny tint to it) rather than the Liquid Yellow. Been sat on the forecourt since December (Ive passed it nearly every day for 8 months, it only went to Bath for a little while), from what I can work it seems very...
Just wondering because my Dynamique had that heat wave sort of effect shown on the pictures when taking pictures up close, but thankfully my Cup reflects a perfect reflection.
Seats are more important at the moment, no point spending out on some cheap coilovers now to improve the look (to those who like the slammed look, Im not bothered) as Im not tracking it until next year, cant be dealing with a low car for my commute anyway until I can afford a decent set up...
Been gradually buying a few bits and pieces for my Cup over the past few weeks (had it since May 15th), new mats, new bulbs, ITG panel filter etc. Few pics here...
Collection day, note lack of splitter and original orange bulbs...

Work them down?! Seems like an impressive bargain already, if you can get it for £20k its basically theft!
You should be looking at £8k for your 172 Cup.
The 172/182 is group 16, the Trophy is group 17 (out of interest I believe the Astra VXR is also going to group 17). Regardless of how cheap the cars themselves get those Insurance groups will put them firmly out of reach of many so called "chavs".
To put it into perspective the Saxo VTR was...
I live in Westbury and have seen the Inferno about a few times, a lot more RenaultSports around locally since the huuuge Renault dealership opened in Trowbridge but I take your point (as when I say a lot more Im still talking less than 10!), very few about on the road in real terms. Ive seen...
No shame in the 182 being slower than the VXR, two completely different class and size of cars we are talking about. Stand up and be proud that he needs a £19k 6-speed turbo to beat the trusty 182 with its n/a engine and the not exactly small sum of £5k between them. Anyone can go faster if they...
Amusing thing is that the press praises Renault for their continuing and quite frankly stunning development of the RS Clio. Considering only one engine has been used for the past few years the difference in cars available to us is quite amazing.
There is a car for everyone and most budgets...
Was on 8400 when I got it 7 weeks ago. Now on 11k and added a ITG panel filter and it feels better still. Seems to be improving over time, I covered 400 miles around South Wales last weekend going "reasonably fast" ;) and ever since its been noticeably more responsive.
Only got it for 3 years...
I read lots and lots of negativity towards the Trophy over the past few months...no extra power, just a way to fleece more money out of us, crappy colour etc. And then when the announcement came...so what have they actually changed?, just some suspension changes, where is the turbo etc etc etc...
Dynamiques/Extremes are the only genuine "Clio Sport" models, so the badge is technically correct. Everyone calls the 172/182/V6 "Clio Sport" but they are in fact "RenaultSport" Clios, hence why we have the RS badge on the left.
Sorry to be pedantic, but he isnt claiming to have a...
I did mine with a screwdriver, 8 screws and the smallest of bumps on the driveway (put the front wheels on it so the front was ever so slightly raised), took me a couple of hours I think.
Had to put my head sideways under the front then I had some room once under (about 6"!), hardest bit for...
Best Ive got...(other half took this under careful instruction from myself as she has never used my camera!)

Thats MY car! ^^^^^
In keeping with most pictures in this thread it looks nothing like that in real actual earth life, this interweb thing distorts them :D
P.S. Petrol Blue all the way, gorgeous and rare as fook.

Having a great time, actually! Went to Oakwood on the Saturday (MegaFobia, genius!) and then went to lots of litte places on Sunday (Tenby, Bosherston and Angle)
I seen a Liquid Yellow 182 going in the opposite direction to me at one point actually, I think it was near the end of the M4 or on...
If mine has been left for 8hrs or so it feels a bit limited around 2500rpm or so for the first couple of minutes, hard to describe but it feels like the rev limiter kicks in really early. I figured this was just a character of the car though as Im sure it doesnt want you going much harder than...
Be interested to see any pictures taken from in-car. My other half go this shot today when we were heading back from our weekend away...

Yup it is, when I was initially looking for a Cup I noticed the Modus on your drive and started to have second thoughts (I figured yours was in for work!). Out of interest have you had a service at Platinum in Trowbridge since they opened? Just wondered what they were like as I havent been...
